Most HelpfulI have always been a person who loves how my teeth feels after a cleaning at the dentist's office. They are smooth as silk. I also don't particularly care going to the dentist. Bad past visits with not so great hygienists and dentists have not helped.
I have tried regular, manual brushes and electric...

Most HelpfulAlthough I like the way it works, I have mixed feelings about the Sonicare Essence 5300 electric toothbrush. The first is the price. It's not that it's more expensive than other electectric, it's that with the cost of replacement tooth brush heads ($30 for two) every 3 months, it can add up easily....
review »The Sonicare electric toothbrush is a great product. My fiance and I have a pair of them. The most important benefit to me is that since I started using it, my gums no longer bleed when I floss. He likes it because the small head reaches hard-to-get spots. They are easy to charge, and the charge lasts quite a while, two to three weeks.
The main drawback, of course, is that they are expensive. Also, I dropped mine once, and it stopped working. My fiance was able to pry it open and get it going again, but it is not meant to be opened, so it was pretty ugly after that, and I ended up replacing it....
I bought the Sonicare Essence e5300 for a few reasons. 1. it was recommended by our dentist, 2. we had a coupon. Now both my husband and I use the same kind. It was easy to use. It is a bit messy for my small mouth even though the head and stick parts are small, somehow I still end up will lots of paste around my mouth. It tells you to break up your brushing in your mouth in sections. A. top outside, B. top inside, C. bottom outside, and D. bottom inside. Although, not necessarily in that order. The toothbrush runs for 2 minutes so you get 30 seconds for each section. This is...
review »I received the Sonicare Essence 5300 as a gift approx. four years ago from my parents. Before receiving this toothbrush I would use the battery operated brushes from Crest, Colgate etc.. I never really felt that they fully cleaned my teeth.
The Sonicare Essence 5300 has a built in two minute timer which at first I thought, okay no big deal I know I'm brushing for two minutes already. Well after using it for the first time I realized just how short I had been brushing my teeth. The automatic shut off is perfect even for people who need to turn the brush off to spit in the middle of the...
review »I cannot say enough good things about the Philips Sonicare Essence e5300 toothbrush. The price is reasonable compared to other rechargeable power toothbrushes, and it does a great job. There are many nights that I don't even have to floss ~ it does that good of a job. The motion of the toothbrush head is not so forceful as to feel like you are being jack-hammered as I have experienced with another reputable brand of power toothbrushes, and it is relatively quiet when in use. The overall design is sleek and does not take up much space on the counter. In fact, the rechargeable base is one...
review »I originally received this as part of a product trial (lucky me!) and was skeptical that it would do anything in particular for my teeth. After all, I was using a battery-operated toothbrush; how different could it be? Very different, as it turned out! Aside from the initial weirdness of feeling my teeth and gums tingling, I was amazed at how clean my mouth felt after each brushing. The sonic waves must actually enhance cleaning and plaque removal -- hence, my feeling better than when I used just the battery-operated toothbrush. I have gotten very used to my Sonicare and feel a bit grungy...
review »The Sonicare Essence toothbrush is amazing. It took some getting used to when I first got it as it tickles your mouth so it is almost unbearable. I persisted and after about the third or fourth use of the Soniccare I finally go used to it. I love that it lets you know when to change the area that you are brushing and when you are done. The heads come off easily for cleaning and to change when someone else uses it. It can be cleaned easily in the sink and stores nicecly in the stand that it comes with. It signals when you are done at 2 minutes and if you feel like you didn't quite get...
review »The Sonicare Sanitinzing tooth brush.I recieved this toothbrush for a survey. I got to keep it and Iwas so glad that I did! I have never felt like my teeth were so clean before. I put the toothpaste on turn it on and let the toothbrush do its work! I simply run it over my teeth and it even makes cleaning the back teeth a snap! My son loves to use it and the other feature I like it that the heads are interchangeable! We can all use the same toothbrush with different heads. The tops come with different colored rings that can be asigned to each family member so that you don't accidentaly use someone...
review »The Sonicare Essence leaves your teeth feeling as if you just had them cleaned at the dentist. It also does a fantastic job of massaging your gums to keep them healthy. The battery is recharged without electrical contacts -- great because over time the contacts would corrode and stop working. The biggest disadvantages of this model are price (but the job it does is worth it), the non-replaceable battery and the design of the brush head. The brush head has a large motor section at its base and the brush body has a large cavity to hold it. Water seeps into this cavity and bacteria tend...
review »I love my Sonicare Essence e5300 so much that the whole family each has there own. I first got an electric toothbrush first, then my husband who was a nonbeliever that they helped got a problem with his gums so I ordered him a sonicare toothbrush and he was pleasantly surprised that his teeth felt cleaner. So now be bought my daughter one for Christmas. Thank you for this opportunity.
This toothbrush works very well. The sonic vibration really helps with the cleaning. Recommend to others to try. LOVE IT.
