Somewhere In Time stars Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour, Christopher Plummer & Theresa Wright. This movie came out in 1980 but was based on a love in 1912. The acting is superb & became a cult classic for Christopher Reeve.

This story started in 1972. Chris Reeve plays a Playwright named Richard Collier. He is wrapping up a play.  At the party, an old woman approaches him.  She presses an antique pocket watch into his hand.  She then asks him to 'Come back to me.'

Next, we have moved forward to 1980.  Collier has broken up with his current girlfriend & decides to go away. He finds himself drawn to the Grande Hotel on Mackinac Island.  He finds himself checking out the museum in the hotel.  There he finds a picture of an actress that preformed there. Her name was Elise McKenna (Seymour). She had been an actress there in 1912.  Somehow, Collier just knew she was the love of his life.

After some research, he realizes that she was the old lady who visited him at the wrap party 8 years ago. With further checking, he finds out that she died right after she went to him & gave him the pocket watch.

Collier realizes that he must go back in time & be with her again. He remembers an old college professor who wrote a book about time travels.  He meets up with him to find out how it is done. He purchases a suit from that period & rids his room of everything of the present.

When Collier finds himself in 1912 he has to find a way to meet Elise & get her to fall in love with him again.  This would not be hard if her manager, William Robertson, (Christopher Plummer) would leave them alone.  But he has always wanted her for his own.

I really don't want to say anymore about the story because I don't want to deter anyone from watching the movie.  I am generally not big on romance movies but this movie is an exception.   Men love this movie equally as much as women!

I have heard people say that as good as The Notebook & The Titanic were; they still weren't as good as Somewhere In Time!
