I've had this straightener for years. Probably closer to 6-7 years now. It still works great. It makes my hair really smooth. It doesn't pull on my hair. I have little patience when it comes to doing my hair. I like to be done within minutes. This straightener definitely speeds up the process. I don't have curly or wavy hair. But I like to take night showers. So when I wake up in the morning, I need my straightener to even out the bumps and waves that I acquired throughout the night. I've noticed that throughout the years, I have to squeeze the straightener harder to press my hair through. That means it takes longer to straighten, and it requires more effort. Considering this hair straightener lasted six years (so far), it's impressive that that's the only thing I can complain about. I don't have any other issues. It heats up quickly within 7-8 seconds it's hot enough. The straightener is wide enough to curl hair with. It's not too wide that you can't curve your hair in or out at the ends.

My Chi died after 2 years and I was in desperate need of a new flat iron.  I didnt want just anyone and was deadset on a chi, but when i was looking around online a found out about solia.  I am so glad i did, it is so much better then my old chi.  It heats up way faster, and when i use it on my hair it works so much better.  With my chi my hair when I straightned it would still be frizzy a little bit.  I have very thin hair that frizzes very easily.  I have had my Solia about 6 months now and it is still working great.  My hair is so much more straighter, it takes me half the time then my chi did which is great because i hate getting ready and doing my hair.  One thing about the solia though the little red light stays on all the time at first i thought it would turn off when it was ready but it just stays on all the time.  I never thought any straightner was better then a chi but i was so wrong.  My hair even looks shinner and healthier with the new solia.
