I tend to overwater my plants, leaving them with yellow leaves and droopy looking. I can't tell if they've had too much water or too little. This meter takes the guesswork out of it all, and my houseplants look much healthier.

simple and effective, what more is there to say? the only downside to this meter is that it just feels "cheap" but i have owned several over the years and they tend to get stepped on or lost or run over so i'm glad to not have to pay bank for something i tend to abuse. on average, with regular use these things tend to last about a year with me.
