Microsoft Windows XP Professional w/ Service Pack 2

this is probably the best operating system on the market at this time for the everyday user.  vista uses too much memory and will require massive upgrades for stable/quality performance.  and all operating systems before this do not utilize the memory enough or o not run as efficiently.  mac operating systems are fine if you are into that sort of thing, but they do not provide a functioning environment for deeper computer work, such as development. … read full review »

the free version is great to view pdf files. adobe really sets the standard in this field.  but the program is slow on any computer that isnt top of the line.  also a con is that they bundle it with all sorts of software that you will never use.  almost everything from adobe has a few extra processes running in the background that take up memory as well and are not needed.  there are plenty of freeware programs out there that load faster and work just as well.  I recommend searching for one of… read full review »

Ok, so why review something that comes with your computer? Because I would hate to see someone not utilize what they already have. I never used to use Paint because it seemed so juvenile. Recently, however, I've started playing RPG games where you can make banners and such. I've used paint for all of my banners... and I have people asking me to make them some, wondering what program I've used. They are all shocked when I tell them Paint. This nifty little application allows you to resize, rotate, paint, crop, cut, add text, and more. I know this sounds so stupid, but if you play with it for a… read full review »

Just bought windows Vista with my new computer a few days ago and so far I'm not impressed. It has crashed a few times and doesn't allow the use of older software like lotus 123. It does have some interesting features but so far nothing that I'm likely to use in the near future. … read full review »

The cool thing I found out when buying ringtones/songs on itunes for the iphone, is that it is cheaper to buy a whole song and convert it to a ringtone, than paying the $2.49 most cell providers charge. Plus you can create the ringtone and start/stop it at any point during the song. You are not limited to what the cell providers have on their… read full review »

I just took a class regarding this software and while there are a lot of new things added to the 2007 version, they seem to be too frilly to actually use professionally.  Plus, there is just too much to it.  It is SIMPLE enough to use, but once you find how to do something, it's hard to find it… read full review »

Jump Start World Kindergarten is an outstanding computer program for children.  My son and daughter will do just about anything for the privilege of having "Jump Start" time on the computer. — — This program has reinforced skills they are learning as we homeschool, and it has shown me some areas that I need to make them work on.  I love the community badges they earn for doing deeds for others and following instructions, and they are really excited every time they complete one.  We also all love the jewels they complete as they work through the learning… read full review »

IC VERIFY MULTI USER V4.0.3 1 MERCHANT / 4 USERS [ics-453]

IC VERIFY MULTI USER V4.0.3 1 MERCHANT / 4 USERS [ics-453]
a PC User, Every day computer user

We wanted to cut Credit card processing fees and wanted to switch to a lower commission based processor. ICverify wanted $100.00 to re-register the software. This additional expenses will offset the savings and we believe that ICverify is taking full advantage of the monopoly they are in as they are holding us now hostage! To continue the use of the software that we have already paid for, we have to pay an additional $100.00! This is said to be in their terms and conditions that nobody reads or manage. I do not recall seeing this hidden charge in their software agreement but they claim they… read full review »

Bottom-Line: In an on-line (and off-line) world filled with a sprawling array password protected sites and programs, Roboform Pro & Form Filler really shines. — Okay, I'll admit it; I have long lists of passwords like everyone else; it seems you cannot even visit a web site these days without filling our reams of on-line forms. So like everyone else I started looking for a solution to manage all of these passwords.  I developed a list which I kept secreted away on my computer, but I also bought a cool keyboard with a fingerprint reader built in.  The keyboard is a great… read full review »
