This is one of my favorite brands of hair dye. The colors always come out exactly like the the package shows and the directions are very simple. Its not as messy as other products I have tried and it holds the color nicely. It has a nice texture so it doesn't drip as much as other dyes and I don't have to use a whole bottle for one treatment. I have naturally black hair and after dying it with a light red It covered it up completely with no blotches or uneven toned spots. It completely covered my gray areas and really hit the roots. The end result was a nice glossy color without the dried out scalp feeling. Another thing that I love about this dye is that although it is permeant it doesn't really stain as bad as other products so its a quick and easy clean up. It doesn't rub off on your clothes and pillows and stuff as much as other dyes so you don't have to be as carful after you dye it .

I have been using this haircolor for years. I can tell the color will be right everytime. Which is good to know. When something works I stick with it. Effectiveness It provides great coverage for my gray hairs. Plus the color pretty much comes out right every time since I'm only doing my roots it doesn't take as long. Its pretty quick because the heat from my head helps it process faster. Ease of Application The application is simply and easy to do as long as you can read the directions you can't go wrong. The timing though can be a little tricky I go by the look instead of time. After a while you kinda know what color your hair looks like when its done. The only thing I didn't like is the gloves. They are kinda weird and small, having to take them off and on is a pain so I usually just buy the latex kind and use them It makes it a little easier to feel your hair and what is covered and what is not so you don't overlap. Not to mention the ease of parting your hair with your fingers which is very important in this haircoloring process.

I've used this hair dye several times (since I was in 10th grade) and I usually use it to lighten my hair. It works great for that, each time I've dyed root to tip and I've never had damaged hair. The conditioner that they provide is thick and moisturizing. However the 2 times that I've tried to color my hair from honey brown to soft black with this product I ALWAYS have to dye twice, the brown color begins to show through after a couple of washes and my hair looks terrible. So if you are looking to do that I wouldn't recommend this product at all. However it has a great smell and is easy to use.

First of all let me tell you, I have tried all kinds of hair colors, because I want to try to go as blonde as I can. I have lost 271 pounds and I wanted to change my hairstyle and color. I have tried a few hair dyes and I was not happy at all. I will be SOUNDING OFF on them when I get a chance. But back to Dark and Lovely. Yes, You are LOVELY!!!!! I did my hair with the honey blonde with the lightner pack that came along with the box. I left the dye in my hair for more longer than you are supposed to. DONT DO!!! Follow the directions on the box or do what I did at your own risk. Well I left it on with a bag on my hair and my hair turned PLATNIUM. OMG I was SO HAPPY!!! That is what I wanted. I thought I was going to have to dye my hair all year long before I achieved the color I wanted. I thought I was also goin to have to get my hair stripped. But I didn't. YES my hair was dry but I did a deep conditioning treatment and it came out as soft as ever. I get so many compliments on my hair.
