Sobe - Life Water —

Among the sea of other Peapod specials a few weeks ago, there surfaced something I hadn't tried before -- SoBe Life Water priced at one dollar for a 20-oz. bottle.  I chose the Pomegranate Cherry Zingseng flavor and gave it a taste test tonight.

This beverage is blessed with a light refreshing, not overly sweet, taste which some people might describe as bland.  It is truly more of a water than a juice.  Because It contains the herbal elements of Taurine and Ginseng which are beneficial in their own way, perhaps some people may be sensitive to this drink and shouldn't overdo their consumption of it.  (You might want to ask your doctor about special beverages like this before you make them a part of your daily routine.)

STATS:

There are two and a half servings in a bottle and nutritional information is given for both serving size and total contents of bottle.  I'm going to give the 4-1-1 for the entire bottle as most people will end up finishing the bottle off even if it takes a whole day of sipping now and then.  A 20-oz. bottle contains 100 calories with zero calories from fat, 55 mg. sodium, 41 grams total carbs., 24 grams sugars, and zero protein.  Wait until you see the vitamins and minerals a bottle contains:  25% each Niacin, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, 50% Vitamin E and 250% Vitamin C.

TASTE TIP:

Chill SoBe Life Water Pomegranate Cherry Zingseng as much as possible but it actually tastes better if no ice has formed in the beverage.  This makes a perfect accompaniament for a sandwich of chilled leftover sliced turkey which I'm willing to bet a lot of people are eating this Thanksgiving evening even as I write this.

Okay, I've read this again and see that I tried the Cherry Pomegranate which is a flavor I would like. I did menton that it is a bit BLAND which it really is. I think I did find it refreshing with a sandwich but as a person who has to be concerned about blood pressure, I try to watch my consumption of ginseng. I hope you're going to have a nice weekend, Gigi! Take it easy and stay warm!

It must have been a while since I reviewed this, I'm drawing a blank although I see it is getting a lot of hits. I've got to tell you that I have mixed feelings about even the best vitamin waters. It may be that I happened to pick a flavor I liked on this but as a rule I tend to stick to either juices, diet soda, or plain old WATER water!

I think that there is a medicinal taste that I find unpleasant. It is more like flavored water. I need to find the one Lifewater that I tried before and stick with it.

I have never tried this brand but have been considering it. Thanks for mentioning the taurine. It works like caffeine. I really want to try this flavor. When I do I just won't have a cup of tea that day. Thanks for suggesting this interesting flavor. I like pomegranate blends. Very good review, Anna!
