I've been watching So You Think You Can Dance since season 1 and I can't foresee myself ever stopping. Even though I like a lot of talent shows such as American Idol, nothing has quite the same talent as this show.
What is it?
On So You Think You Can Dance, professionals from all walks of life start off by auditioning for 3 judges who are professional choreographers of the stars. The judges know what they are talking about because they do this for a living, and that is the first thing I love about the show. The dancers are narrowed down into a group that goes to Vegas for an intense dance...
If you love dance, you'll love this show.
Reality shows that are about talent, and not nasty psychological warfare, are a blast to watch, in my humble opinion. Dance has always been my favorite art form, but not one I excel at personally (my sister, however, is a pro).
The sheer talent of the people on this show is amazing. They are brave, taking on new dance styles each week, and being pushed by top industry choreographers. The dancers come from all walks of life, and talents levels.
Blake McGrath, surely L.A.'s finest professional dancer, was on an early season and should have won. ...
review »This show is awesome! Too bad I didn't know about it until Season 2 premiered. My best friend had it recorded on her DVR, and I kind of just strumbled upon it. This show really shows viewers what dancing is really about, and it's tough stuff! They start out with auditioning in various locations through-out the United States, and then they fly their favorites to Las Vegas for the "elimination week". I usually don't really watch it until the actual Top 20 start to compete and you're able to vote. The dancers are always the best. They said they like to have different styles of dancers in the Top 20,...
review »So you think you can dance is a MUST SEE! I am so excited it is back for the Fall. It si the highlight of my summers!
This show depicts real people who love dance and supports their journey to get better and better through professional choreography as well and personal choreography when they have to dance for their life and proof to the judges they are learning and should stay on the show.
The dancers are real people with different backrounds and personalities that make up a dance world. Not only do the contestants learn about dance but so does the audience when week after week new dances...
review »I LOVE THIS SHOW! Then again, there are other reality shows that I like to watch. I really enjoy "So you think you can dance," because I enjoy watching performances and voting on the ones that I like. The performances that I don't like I just don't give votes to, and then they of course get voted off.
I am going to let you in on my list of favorite dances, and that I always vote on. It is going to be getting harder and harder to pick the ones I want to vote for as the end of the show comes closer. I think I like more men than women this year.
I always vote, but I give 4 votes to my favorite...
review »OK, so I am not crazy, but I got your attention, didn't I? Mary Murphy who is an award winning choreographer and ballroom expert, is one of the judges on "So You Think You Can Dance." For anyone who has ever watched the show, you will know that when she really, really likes a dance, she will put you on her hot tamale train. She has a screaming and screaching voice that will drive anyone crazy, but she is so much a part of the show that when she is not there, you truly miss her. Now, on to the dancers. This show, I feel, produces some of the best dancers that I have ever seen. And the award winning...
review »I have been a dancer for 11 years now and I have never seen a dance show that was better than this. The coreography is amazing and the dancers are spectacular. Anyone who has seen this will most likely agree that everything about this show is great. A +++
If you have not yet seen the show I highly recommend watching and be prepared to be amazed.
Led by the british co-creator of American Idol, Nigal Lithgoe, this dance show contest is much more entertaining than the singing version. The first few weeks of 'So You Think You Can Dance' (which airs twice a week) consists of auditions and is often the most interesting portion of the season. And not usually because of the freaks that try-out, as is the attraction for its sister show.
I've gotten so attached to the cast at times that each season it is more difficult to get involved for missing the ones I loved the previous year. The judges are usually on point and rarely cruel, although Mary...
review »In the reality TV series So YouThink You Can Dance contestants dance for the votes of the public. It is really just like American Idol only it involves dancing instead of singing. I love this reality series and find it real easy to get wrapped up in the contestants.
Who is eliminated from the competition is done by some of the judges and by people voting for there favorites from home. The choreography on this show is a force to be reckoned with, and so is the strength of the dancers.
It is a highly addictive show for me and I found myself religously tuned in everyweek.Like all modern television...
review »Cheers to SYTYCD for it's 5th season! The dancers are better than ever, the choreography is fantastic, and the season is off to a great start. This show is wonderful because it showcases primarily non-professional talent - these kids are really amazing dancers and many of them have had little formal training. Many have been in tutus all their lives, too, but unlike Project Runway, where most of the designers seem to already be working in their fields, most of the SYTYCD competitors have yet to be "discovered." Sure, judge Mary Murphy is annoying, but the guest judges (Adam Shankman in particular)...
