A truly poignant novel! Lisa See put together a wonderful tale of a girl and her best friend who grow up together during a turbulent time period. They undergo many trials to their friendship - marriage, death, distance, misunderstanding. They use NuShu to communicate, even when their families want them to discontinue their friendship. A beautiful book that I would recommend to anyone.
