Snopes —
Snopes has been my resource for anything that people tell me since about 2003. Any time I hear somebody say "One time somebody told me..." I look it up on Snopes, no exceptions. Their forums have a great community. Overall, the site is worth a visit whenever you have a few minutes to spare, but watch out; it's addictive!
