Snopes —
Indeed, Snopes has not just saved me from embarrassment, but saved my friends from mass emails filled with non-truths and/or scare tactics. The other reviews have summed it up well. I have recommended Snopes to all my friends and when I receive a bunk email, I will send them back a link to the Snopes page that tells all about it (nicely of course). Even for those emails that are true (or at least have a glimmer of truth to them, it is fun and interesting to learn more about the original source.
