Smashbox Skin Tint —

Quick View: This Skin Tint is very subtle and sheer and pretty. It wears for a long time and looks natural. But it is so similar to other sticks like Tarte's Gel Cheekstain and others I already have that it isn't really special to me. Still, I think any woman would like the flush of color that this product gives her face.

About Smashbox Skin Tint

This product comes in a black swivel up stick. There are three shades: Tint, which is golden pink; Heat, which is sheer coral pink; and Ultra Violet, which is sheer raspberry. I bought Ultra Violet because I am not a big fan of light pink shades. I was hoping this was sheer and not too bright and it certainly is sheer. I made the right color choice.

According to Smashbox: "Adds subtle, natural-looking color to cheeks and lips making you appear "lit" from within. Sheer enough to risk mirror-less application, this water-based stain stick contains vitamins A, C, E, aloe, and echinacea to nourish skin while creating a flawlessly flushed face."

I tried the stick on my cheeks and it is subtle and dewy. It gave me just a hint of fresh color and it looked totally natural. I used it on my lips as well and it flushed them right up too. I usually use a light dusting of either powder blush or H2O Plus loose finishing powder to give these subtle sheer colors some staying power. I used a light loose powder blush tint over this and it was lovely looking. I am very pale and have to be careful not to overdo blush and get clown cheeks. This gave me a hint of fresh color without an obvious made up look. It's good for day but I need a bit more color at night.

My Viewpoint

I have sooooooooo many of these products that this one doesn't seem that special. However, it is very natural and pretty and, if you are looking for a good sheer stick, this may be a good choice. It's pricey at $28.00 though. It is definitely a high quality and long wearing product and I give it 4 stars. I just need to stop buying the same types of stuff over and over. I only have one face. When am I going to find time to wear all this stuff?

In response to LadyMagic's comment from Apr 5, 2009 at 2:15PM:

Jane Be Pure tinted moisturizer or foundation in the plastic squeeze tube is around $6.00 and works as well. It is also all natural and can be found in drugstores!

Decisions, decisions so many to pick from. Can you suggest anything like this but a little less pricey? : ) Great review, Patty.
