When I use **Smashbox Photo Op Eye Brightener **before I apply my usual concealer, my eyes look brighter and my circles look much less noticeable. My concealer stays on longer too. As a plus, I have found that **Smashbox Photo Op Eye Brightener** is a good eye shadow primer or an eye shadow on its own with its light tint and pretty reflective qualities.***My Viewpoint***Some people can get away with using just** Smashbox Photo Op Eye Brightener** as an under eye concealer but not me. I have deep inherited circles that even the best of concealers have trouble hiding. Using this product as a primer before concealer (as instructed) gives me better results than when I use concealer alone. It's a bit pricey but you need just the smallest amount under and around each eye for results. I like it. 4 stars.

I wouldn't necessarily spend the money on this. Just seems like extra gunk to put on your face without truly brightening my eyes. Goes on smooth, easy to apply and doesn't feel heavy, but I didn't see any benefit to using it.

For as many years as I've been trying to find something to cover up my under eye circles, you would think I'd be unwilling to throw more money at another product. Well, let me tell you, I'm glad I did. I figured I might as well give it another go, since Smashbox products are pretty awesome, even if they come with a higher price tag. They are worth it. The Photo Op Under Eye Brightener is no different. After reading mostly positive reviews, I ordered my own tube and now want to buy stock in this product. It takes a little bit of trial and error to get it to work as you want it to, but I have found that if you put it on right over your moisturizer, top with a tiny amount of concealer and then do your makeup as usual, you get the best results. While it doesn't take away your dark circles completely, it DOES make a huge improvement, which is more than I can say for almost every other product I've tried. It has a bit of shimmer in it, so the light reflects off of it in a way that detracts from your dark circles, so people can focus on the rest of your beautiful face and stop asking you if you've been sleeping badly. The tube seems small, but just a little bit works wonders, so for the price it is a great deal. Go buy it!

Photo Op Under Eye Brightener also doubles as a cream eye shadow for a nice subtle and natural look. It then also acts as a great primer for concealer if you have really really bad dark circles. This is one of those rare products which does exactly what it advertises. In general, I applaud Smashbox cosmetics for their quality, their durability, and their relative affordability. This under eye brightener is no exception. However, this product is exactly what it is billed as: an under eye BRIGHTER, not a concealer. If you are trying to mask or disguise under eye circles completely, you will need to use this product as a primer, not as a single remedy. The formulation seems to contain reflective particles which deflect light away from the area, creating an overall illusion of brightness in the under eye area. Additionally, it provides much-needed moisturizing to this delicate area, and feels light and natural when applied. You can also use this product on lids, even just under the browbone, to create a bright effect in those areas, much like a skin-tone cream eyeshadow. Where this product proves its mettle, interestingly enough, is in photographs. Just like its name suggests, this product is worth its weight in gold in any photo session. As an entertainer, I have noticed the almost miraculous effects of this product on stage, and in photographs, where it will almost single-handedly disguise under eye darkness, providing a much more youthful look.

I first found out about this product because I received this in a sample size in a smashbox kit.  I first must same I love smashbox I struggles with makeup until I found this brand and now I couldn't be happier.  So I used to simple put foundation under my eyes when I discovered this product I'd thought I'd give it a try.  And I loved it!  First of all I always haved struggled with darkesnes under my eyes and that is no longer a problem I simply apply and dab it in.  And boy does it work miracles.  It completely changes the apperance and then also things like powder will then stick because the liquid is applied. So for me this the one product I can not go without it lightens under eyes instantly.  Now you do have to be carely because you can put too much on and then look funny. No one thing is that it is a bit pricey however I found if you use primer etc and use small amounts it can last quite awhile.  I presonally make smmashbox products last way longer than other brands.

When I first got this product, in a "kit", I had no clue what it did, despite the name.  When I finally got someone at the Smashbox counter who understood how to use it they put it on me, and it made me look so fake, and obviously overdone it was ridiculous.  I don't know maybe I just got a bad batch, but it seemed to clump, not hide what it is suppose to hide (darkness under the eye), and instead seemed to call attention to problems that I would like not to be highlighted.  On top of all of this the tube is super tiny!  I thought I had just got the "sample size" but I actually got the full size product!  Also the Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightner doesn't seem to work well with the SmashBox skin primer.  This product is such a disappointment, you would be better off just using a skin colored eye shadow under your eyes with a bit of shimmer/gold/champagne to it instead of wasting money on this!

I wasn't sure how to best use the Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener - it seemed a little watery in consistency, with a sheen that I was worried would look like I had eyeshadow underneath mye eyes. But I'm learning to love this product. The  Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener is becoming a beauty staples.  I can apply just a few dots under each eye to make my eyes appear brighter, and it also works well to reduce the redness and puffiness after long days or nights at the computer. A few dots under the eyes and in the corners, (both inside and out) works great. I have found it can also be used for a natural-looking highlighter when applied to the browbone -- it has just a little bit of shimmer, so it's perfect when used alone, too.  It works as a lightweight brightener that seems to take off the years and help me look younger. I will definitely buy this product again, and it may encourage me to check out the other products in the Smashbox line.

I adore the Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener!  It has quickly become one of my beauty staples.  Whether I'm truly awake at 6 a.m. or not, after applying a few dots of this under my eyes, they instantly look brighter and more wide awake.  I stash a second one in my purse, as midday my eyes tend to get pretty red and puffy from sitting in front of a computer, so I give myself a few dabs under the eyes, in the corners, and sometimes even a few on my lids (which can get REALLY puffy) and poof!  I'm back to looking human again! I also use the Photo Op Brightener for my night look under my eyebrows as a highlighter, and it works great there as well.  It has just the slightest hint of shimmer, so I'll apply it a little heavier than I would under my eyes as a brightener and it looks amazing.  I swear it takes all of the years off me that my kids have put on me! I'm a big fan of Smashbox products and they hit the mark again with this one!

I did not really like this product, Smashbox Photo Op Under Eye Brightener, at first.  I personally think it is way over priced for such a small amount that comes in the tube. It is very sheer and shimmery when it goes on at first.  However, after a few weeks of using this, I have learned how to make it work.  I apply this after concealer and foundation and it works pretty nicely that way.  It won't make a difference on bare skin, since it is so sheer.  When used over your concealer and foundation, it gives a nice shimmery glow that does brighten the under eye area, which is the goal.  It doesn't conceal dark circles and it's not supposed to.  That being said, if you don't use under eye concealer or wear foundation, I do not recommend using this unless you want a subtle under eye glow.  It won't do anything by itself, which is a bummer since it is so expensive and not all of us wear a lot of makeup.
