Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner Review

When I first started using eyeliner, I used the good old Maybelline red pencils that came two in a package from the drugstore. I remember heating the tip with a lighter before applying it to make the liner more dramatic looking. Hey, I was a teenager and back then, I had no fear. As I got older, I graduated into Avon eyeliner that was still a pencil but looked less like one on. I attempted to use liquid liners and what a Halloween project I would look like afterwards. I never have figured out how to use it. I simply stuck with Avon until recently when my sister gave me a small tub of Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner for my birthday. It looked like I was going to have another Halloween project on my hands but I should have trusted the diva in her because this stuff is AWESOME!

Jet Set Eye Liner is waterproof and smudge-proof. The gel-formula is made to line and define the eye without pulling or tugging. It has a quick-dry formula that sets quickly and stays put all day. A 0.10 oz. tub currently costs $22 and is available in bronze, dark brown, navy blue and midnight black.

What I think of it...

I had no idea how I was going to be able to apply this creamy liner to my eyes without making a mess of myself. Thankfully, my sister also bought me the Smashbox Arced Liner Brush #21 to apply this eyeliner with. All I had to do was unscrew the top of the small tub and dip the brush in lightly. I have to admit that it took me a couple of tries to get the line straight and not too thick. I was just not used to this type of eyeliner. Once applied correctly, I had a beautiful looking line under my eyes. I apply a thin line during the day so I don't look too overly made up and a bit thicker at night to make my appearance a little more dramatic. This liner stays on literally, until I take it off with cleanser. It is very long lasting and definitely waterproof. I went swimming at my sister-in-laws and all my makeup came off EXCEPT for this eyeliner. I was shocked at how perfect the line still was considering I had been swimming under water.

Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner may be pricey but a little bit of this product goes a long way. I have had mine since May and there is only a small dent in the container. This very good product does what it claims to do. I recommend this product and I am giving it a 4 star rating.
