Perfect Powder

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder - All Shades:

I went from BareMinerals to this and I've never looked back.  It doesn't irritate my skin or smear.  It stays on for most of my day, which is a huge improvement from others that wore off after an hour.  I truly love this product!

Smashbox Halo Powder is so so

By

from Davenport, IA

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder - All Shades:

Smashbox Halo Hydrating Powder is very light.  I don't like how it accentuates my pores and settles into fine lines.  With the proper primer, it is a great powder with good coverage and shade selection.

Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder - All Shades

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder - All Shades:

I bought this after seeing a demo on QVC. It is supposed to diffuse the light so wrinkles arent that noticeable. I am 40 have have those worry lines on my forehead and I feel I am too young for that. Halo does indeed diffuse the light and the wrinkles were almost inviible to me, which i thought was fantastic! The container design i think is great, you do not waste any product and since no dirt or oil touch the product in general it has a longer shelf life - another bonus.

My face does also appear brighter when I wear it. I cant remember if it is supposed to be that way but you'd think it would be since the light diffuses.

I have a lot of freckles and was worried that Halo would make them look funny since I know it couldnt completely cover them and Halo like 'muted' them. You saw freckles but they were in your face, so to speak which I thought was good.

It is on the pricier side I think but given the thigs it does I thought it was worth it. As for cons nd why I gave it 4 stars - your skin MUST be hydrated. So if you have any dry patches they will be amplified. I also tried this for under my eyes since I typically use other powders to set my concealer. This was wrong. It immediately caked up no matter the order I put it on with the concealer. And since your face appears brighter, during summer months be prepared to use bronzer with it or go a shade darker because for me it looks like I was wearing a mask.

One step above mineral powder

By

from Westborough, MA

Comments about Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder - All Shades:

I started out with the basic mineral powders when it was getting popular because my face was breaking out.  I found that the mineral powder alone didn't give me the coverage that I needed so I started looking into a powder to go over foundation.

The best feature of the Smashbox is the control you have of how much powder to grind.  This makes it a little cleaner than the other mineral powder containers.  The ground powder doesn't look as fine as the pre-ground.  The coverage was similar to other powders but it does stay on all day.  It looks and feels light but it's there.  Because of this product, I started purchasing more Smashbox pieces.

The brush that came with the compact was too stiff and stubby for me, so I threw it away.  I'm almost finished with the compact and noticed that there are chunks of powder left after each use.  It seems that the grinder is getting dull.  This is a small thing since it still works just fine.  I have not attempted to open up the compact to see if it does open because I have been wondering how to tell if I'm running low without getting a surprise one morning.  Maybe that's the next great feature of this product.
