Smashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer —

Quick View: I am starting to lose faith in Smashbox cosmetics. I love their makeup primer but many of their products are pretty average and pretty expensive. This concealer fits perfectly in that category.

About Smashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Concealer

This concealer comes in a very slim stick form. There are eight shades from Fair to Dark. I bought a kit on QVC and was only given the choice of Fair, Light, Medium, or Dark. the colors looked really dark so I chose Light. It turns out the Light shade is REALLY light.

This is a creamy concealer for under the eyes and for flaws on the face. Although it is creamy, it's pretty thick and a bit cakey. It covers minor flaws well enough and it covers my dark circles but makes my eye area look cakey. That could be because the concealer is lighter than I usually use but I don't think so. I have used enough concealers to know when one is cakey. This one settles into fine lines which is like the kiss of death for a concealer for me. You shall NOT remind me that I have fine lines, Concealer!

As far as coverage, it is more medium than full. It does last a while on the face and around the eyes but I need touch ups on my dark circles every few hours. I have really stubborn inherited dark circles so I am used to looking like the walking dead even when I feel fine. Only Dermablend Cover Creme can cover my deep circles and keep them covered.

This little stick is $18.00 when bought alone. Too expensive for average, if you ask me.

My Viewpoint

Average, average, average. Expensive and average. 3 stars. No recommendation from me. Sorry, Smashbox, I want to love you but you make that very difficult!

Well, I am an obsessive cosmetics and skin care junkie. I just HAVE to try new stuff all the time. It hurts my wallet but my sisters benefit from my tried em and don't like em products! lol.

I always suggest that women who need concealer say "Paper" when checking out at the cashier....
