i had the opportunity to stay at a hotel that had a sleep number mattress in ever room. needless to say, i was stoked. I was for some reason under the impression (probably becuase they cost so much) that they were supposed to give you a great nights sleep and be super comfy. Well, i was dissapointed. I probably got 2 hours of sleep that night. The sleep number had 4 settings. 10 25 50 75. and changing each setting proved to be extrememly noisy. sort of like a vacuum cleaner. so that thing they say on their commercials about your partner being able to change their setting and have it different from yours? ya well maybe if you both want to stay up all night. i could not find a setting the was comfortable. the mattress either got WAY to squishy (like i was sinking into the bed) or it got WAY too hard. ( like i was sleepign on the floor) Any one who waists their money on this mattress is a sorry soul. My husband stayed with me that night and feels the same way I do. He couldn't find a comfy "number" either. both VERY dissapointed, but also greatful we got to experiance the bed before going and waisting money on one. We own a temperpedic mattress now in our home and I would say that if you're going to go and spend a lot of money on a mattress, to get a temperpedic. (memory foam) NOT the sleep number.
