Sleep Inn & Suites - Hattiesburg, MS —

I was in Hattiesburg yesterday to watch my alma mater, the UL Lafayette Ragin Cajuns, play a baseball game against Southern Miss.  Well, the game didn't turn out so well, but I did have a good experience at my hotel.

I chose the Sleep Inn & Suites mainly because of the price (under $60 with my alumni association discount).  Since it's a brand new hotel, I really didn't have much to go on as far as reviews, but I've stayed at a Sleep Inn before and had a good experience.

I was pleased and impressed with this hotel overall.  My room had a flat-screen TV, a digital thermostat for the AC/heater, a microwave, a refrigerator, a hair dryer, and a single-cup coffee maker.  Unlike the other Sleep Inn I stayed at, this one did have a bathtub, and not just a stand-alone shower.  My room was clean, and everything in it worked like it should.  The hotel offers a free continental breakfast, and although there's nothing spectacular or noteworthy about it, it is free.  Other services offered at the hotel include a fitness room and free wireless Internet.

If I'm ever in the Hattiesburg area again, there's an excellent chance I will stay at the Sleep Inn & Suites.  While some other hotels may have more amenities or a more elaborate breakfast, you really can't beat this hotel for the value.

I had that same impression, but when you look at the amenities offered, the only thing really budget about it is the price. I've stayed at two Sleep Inns, and they're two of the best hotels I've ever stayed at.

Looks pretty nice. For some reason I thought Sleep Inn was more like a budget-level motel. It's nice to see some actual photos of the place.
