Great Product!

I have had my 2 Scentbugs for over 10 years. The first few years I used them on a daily basis. I don't use them as often anymore. However, I have never ever replaced the batteries in either of them. They still have the original batteries in them. I have left them on overnight several times. I don't just use the Slatkin oils in mine, I use what ever natural oils I have on hand. One Scentbug is enough to fragrance a room at least 15x15 feet large. I love my Scentbugs.

Love this!

Once my sons started crawling, (they are now 5 and 6), I'd resigned myself to living in a house that smelled like a house with young boys. Now candles.... :(  I also live in a 100 year-old house where electricity was  added after it was built, so I don't have many electical outlets in my home, so electrical plug in "scenters" were not an option. I was truly bummed. Then a friend bought me a scent bug. Suddenly, my world started smelling better. :)  This thing is awesome. It's small, unobtrusive, and... Well... Cute.  It's plastic and runs on batteries. There's a little tray that pops out and you put scented oil on a pad on the tray. Push it back in, push the button, and you're good to go. How easy (and safe) is that? Lately, my 6 year-old, whose job it is to clean the kitty box, has become a huge fan of the Scentbug. He's place it right next to the cat box, so if the kitty has "done his business" right before cleaning time, my son turns it on so it doesn't "stink so bad!"  I have to admit, it does help in that department!  My son's obsession with the Scentbug has also allowed me to judge its battery usage. I can tell you that batteries last for quite a while in it. (My son has a tendency to leave it on.) Overall, a great little gadget!

Cute, but not functional

I decided to try a Scentbug after seeing that they were 50% off and they had one that was pink and had rhinestones (it goes perfectly in my room). I really liked the concept of the scentbug, because most of my outlets are sideways or upside down and can't use the regular wallflowers. This cute little 'bug' seemed like the perfect fix. I was so excited to get home and try it, but was soon disappointed. I put the oil on the little cotton round and turned on the fan. It was super quiet (which was great), but I could not smell it unless I was really close to it. I purchased a strong cinnamon oil, which should have been powerful and spread but did not. I was disappointed, but put it on the table where I sit most of the time so I could smell it. I would just turn it on when I was sitting next to it, and after only a few days (a couple hours each day) the batteries were dead. I replaced them and found that they died again quickly. I would recommend this only for looks.

Smells Amazing! Drains Battery Quickly.

We have a couple of these scattered throughout our house and my family loves the variety of scents that you can get to put in them.  They are easy to use and smell absolutely amazing.  Because they are portable and it is so easy to change the scents, we don't become 'used' to the smells in the same way we do with the 'plugins' that run all the time. The Scentbug doesn't need a flame or an outlet to plug into so it is easy to place it anywhere around your house. The biggest drawback is that the fan can be a little too noisy (unless you like white noise) and the battery wears down quickly.  It would be nice if they had an 'auto shut-off' feature to save the battery life.  Once the scent on the internal pad stops working I often forget that I turned the Scentbug on so it runs until the battery dies!  On a positive note, the bottles of scented oil last for a long time so these are cost effective and work great!  I would definitely recommend this product to other people.

I love my Slatkin & Co. Scentbug Home Frangrance Oil Fan!

I love my Slatkin and Co. Scentbug Home Frangrance Oil Fan!  I bought it at Bath and Body Works which is the only place I have ever seen it for sale.  It was on sale for around fifty percent off or I might not have even bought it.  I am really glad that I did though because it has been great.  The Slatkin and Co. Scentbug Home Frangrance Oil Fan, or Scentbug, comes with three pads to put oil on and batteries.  You store the extra pads in the bottom compartment.  I have had it for a while now, around 3 months, and I just barely had to replace the batteries.  You need frangrance oils to put in the Scentbug and you have to buy them separately.  It would be nice if they came with because the oils can be a little pricey.  If you buy them at the same time as the Scentbug, you get a discount.  That's if you buy the full price Scentbug, not the ones on sale.  The best thing about the Scentbug is that there is no flame so I don't have to worry about my kids getting a hold of it.  I would definitely recommend it!

The Scentbug smells so good!

I bought a Scentbug to put on my desk at work. I work in the healthcare field so occassionally I have smelly people at my desk. lol. I got a really cute hot pink one and love it! It's so cute and people have no idea what it is. One flip of the button and it's on and helping things smell better! I'm going to buy rechargeable batteries for it that way I don't have to keep replacing the batteries. I thought the batteries lasted a reasonable amount of time. Granted i don't use it all day every day, but very reasonable battery life. I loved that you can so easily change the scent. Just put a new white disc in it with the new scent on it and walaa! That way you can easily have a different scent daily if you would like. I only have 2 scents currently, cinnamon and cloves for fall and winter and strawberry patch for spring and summer. I love both scents, they are very yummy! I have already reccomended this products to a friend.

I have to say the scent is very strong, and it can fill up a room fast which is GREAT!  BUT it does not last LONG at ALL!! I was shocked because I think it was gone in a week. I'm not sure if there is a refill, but a week is WAY too short.. good thing I got it on sale.

VERY LOUD!!!!!!!

**Bought this at bath and body works.. the ones in the store were awesome.. Brought it home, added oil turned it on and it smelled awesome. Worked great after about five minutes it started being really noisy. An irritating loudness that overcame any fragrance it emitted. Now I have to bring it back and see if another one will work any better. ** **Beware: Kinda junky!**

Scentbug is a wonderful gift for everyone from 9 to 99!

When I first heard about Bath & Body Works' Scentbug I decided to pick one up for my college-aged son. This was Fall of 2009, and when I got to my local store I found that they were completely wiped out of them. Apparently, all it took was one teacher bringing a Scentbug into her classroom as she set it up for the new school year and all of the other teachers had to have one for their classroom, too! I was glad to hear of the success of the Scentbug, but I was forced to order one for my son online, and he got it for Christmas instead of when he initially decorated his dorm room in the Fall. I believe I ended up getting him a black one - He loved it! . At the time, there were some pretty basic colors - red, blue, white, yellow, black. Since then I have seen a great tortoise-shell colored Scentbug, and I've seen pastels, too.     The fan inside the Scentbug runs on batteries. There's a little drawer that slides open so you can put a few drops of fragrance oil on the included cotton pad. Close the drawer, turn it on, and the fan works to quickly spread your favorite scent throughout the room. As with the oil burners, you're free to use any combination of scented home fragrance oils to create your own customized scents. Eventually you will need to replace the cotton pad inside, but Bath & Body Works sells refill packages.    A scentbug, a couple of fragrance oils and a package of extra pads makes a great gift for nearly anyone. You can quietly run it on your desk at the office, in your home, your dorm room, your classroom at school - they're portable and fun. They're ideal for college students as a form of aromatherapy, since candles and oil burners are prohibited as fire hazards. One issue is battery life. There's no need to run it for hours. After the scent is dispersed, give it a rest before you forget and leave it running!

Pros and Cons

This is much safer than the oil diffusers that use a candle.  I like the ease of it, but I didnt realize when I bought it that the oil would go on a pad.  You can only use a pad for one scent.  I like to switch scents alot.  The storage at the bottom is only good for new pads or the old pad makes all the new pads smell like that scent.  I like that this is easy to use at the push of a buttom and I tend to move it around the house.  The candle kind cant be moved very easily.  I bought this for my workplace as well and my boss who hates scents hasnt said anything negitive. Its nice to be able to control the scent so easily
