    fast, news that really isnt elsewhere

/. is the best place for new news that matters to geeks. It is just a wealth of information for anything computers, science, and videogame/politics info. It even organizes things by date and time added. It also allows comments which often give you even more information about the news and spark lively debates. Most of the users also are rather eloquent so it is very interesting to read.
