Goes on like a body cream. I can't believe I shave with this!

Love the bottle design, smells like a body cream, very rich and creamy, wasn't expensive

About two weeks ago my friend/coworker, Melody, and I went to Kmart to pick up a few things during lunch.  She was needing shaving cream and while she was looking over the various products I noticed the Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave Cashmere Rain for Dry Skin.  It was on sale for 2/$5 and was usually $3.99 each so I thought this was a really good deal.  I had seen it at Walmart a few weeks earlier and made a mental note that when I needed more shaving cream I was going to buy it.  Well, I didn't really need the shaving cream but with the sale price I couldn't pass it up.  So, I bought two and gave one to Melody.  We were both going to use it and then tell the other what we thought.  She knows I write for Viewpoints so I thought I might put her thoughts into the review too.

One of the things that catches your attention is the daintiness of the container.  It appears to sit on a lid that looks like a flower.  You pull the lid down and squeeze the contents out.  The smell?  It smells like a product that would come from Bath and Body Works.  It comes out a little thicker than a lotion.  Thus, the reason for calling it a cream.  Lotions tend to be more liquified and watery and creams tend to be richer and thicker and have more emollients.  I prefer creams.  This cream doesn't produce a lather whatsoever.  When you squirt it out it's like applying hand cream to your legs.  It rubs in well but I'm not sure how many applications I will get because without a lather I don't feel like it "stretches" that much.  With shaving gels that lather I am used to squirting a dollop on my lower leg and producing a lather that goes all the way up my thighs to my bikini zone.  This Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave, however, doesn't go a long way.  What you squirt on your leg covers your leg.  Then I have to use more on upper leg/thigh, bikini zone, and under arms.  Speaking of bikini zones: This is gentle enough to use in that very sensitive area.  It doesn't produce a stinging or burning sensation.

The Cashmere Rain for Dry Skin has a wonderful and light scent.  It does smell like the great outdoors after the showers have poured down and the ground, trees, and flowers have been soaked and then the sweet aroma is released.  The product claims to be dye-free.  My specific scent is a light pink color so if that's natural then okay.

The website says:

Skintimate® introduces a whole new way to shave.  This new mild, dye-free cream, made especially for sensitive skin, creates a cushion for that extra protection from nicks and cuts while rich moisturizers give you the ultimate feeling of hydration.  Experience the difference of shaving with a cream and your legs will feel noticeably softer.

Ingredients: Water, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Isopropyl Palmitate, Mineral Oil, Microcrystalline Wax, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Stearyl Alcohol, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit, Hydrogenated Olive Oil, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Aluminum Starch, OctenylSuccinate, PEG 150 Pentaerythritol Tetrastearate, PEG 6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Camellia Senensis Leaf Extract, PEG 14M, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Fragrance, Titanium Dioxide.

I believe Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave Cashmere Rain for Dry Skin produces the results it promises.  You get a nice clean shave and skin that feels as if it has been swathed with an enriching body cream or butter.  Melody also loved the scent and said it gave her a nice clean shave too.  Would I buy it again?  Yes!  I'm not sure if it will become my shaving cream of choice but I do like it.  I'm still waiting to see just how long it last.  I usually shave 2-3 times a week so if I can get a product to last 6-8 weeks I am happy.

Sounds nice, but you'll have to do an update on how long it lasts you...I'm such a cheapskate and would love to know if you think it's worth the money in the long run! Great review!
