Quick View: I am not a huge fan of ice cream (or maybe I programmed myself not to be from all these years of avoiding high fat products) but now and then, I like a frozen treat. My husband picked me up a six pack of Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches and I loved them. They're sweet, filling, great tasting, and low in calories and fat!

My Take on Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches

These sandwiches have low fat ice cream nestled between two chocolate cookie wafers. They're thick and round with scalloped edges. They come in an plastic egg carton type thing to keep each sandwich from being squished.

These filling treats in vanilla, the flavor I had, have just 140 calories and 3 grams of fat. They also have a respectable 3 grams of fiber and a nice amount of protein and calcium. And they taste so rich! One will fill me up and satisfy my craving for a sweet treat easily. I really don't taste much difference between Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches and full fat ones although, I admit I haven't eaten a full fat ice cream sandwich in many years.

I can eat one or even two without feeling guilty and they're a nice, large handful! The ice cream is creamy and just firm enough and the chocolate wafers are cakey and remind me of the rectangular ice cream sandwiches wrapped in white paper that my dad always had in the freezer. Only Skinny Cow's taste better!

They are sweetened with 9among other things) high fructose corn syrup which many people shun. The jury is out again on whether this sweetener is safe or not and now doctors are saying it is harmless. The small amount I get when I eat one of the sandwiches doesn't worry me at all. It's better than aspartame and natural.

My Viewpoint

Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches are really good. They come in a variety of flavors although I only tried the vanilla. They also come in a no sugar added variety. My husband paid about $3.50 for a package of six which is a bit pricey but worth it to me. I enjoy them and eat them sparingly. They're a fine sweet, creamy, chocolaty treat. 4 stars.

You sound like me. I am always freaking out at the very thought of gaining weight. I play mind games too: Were these jeans/shorts looser last year. Is this shirt a little too snug and so forth. Will we ever be completely satisfied with our bodies before we get to Heaven?

I gained 2 pounds! That will add up to 10 then to 20 then AHHHH. I have to be so careful. These sandwiches satisfy me and I don't feel deprives at all. They're a handful!

One a night really wouldn't hurt though at 140 calories and 2 grams of fat. SIX a night would. lol. My son could eat the whole box in a day.

We can't have these in the house. We used to but having one every night just didn't make sense!

Umm, Ms. Patty, I don't think you ever need to worry about getting fat! These do sound delicious. I don't care for ice-cream that much either so when I do have a craving for it I want it to be something that I will enjoy.
