I've tried many Skindecent products over the past few months including foaming bath butter, bath truffles, moisturizers, and various scrubs. So far, my favorite Skindecent product is the Bermuda Beach Smoother body scrub.
This product is a table sugar-based exfoliating scrub that contains castor seed oil, soybean oil, coconut oil, and cocoa butter to hydrate and moisturize skin. It does tend to separate, with the sugar staying at the bottom and the oil layer floating up at the top. I suggest thoroughly mixing up your jar of Bermuda Beach Smoother before each use to ensure that your last few experiences with it are as lovely as the first several ones.
You can purchase this scrub in 4, 8, and 16 ounce plastic jars with a black screw-on lid. The most difficult part of buying Bermuda Beach Smoother is trying to select just one scent from the list of over 100! Skindecent conveniently breaks them up into different categories to help you narrow down the possibilities: bakery, botanical, candy, drinks, designer duplicates, fruit, romantic, seasonal, etc. For this particular 8 ounce jar of product, I selected the Buttermint scent. It's a lovely combination of cream and mint and a dead-on replica of those powdery mints that restaurants used to keep in dishes next to the cash register. It's a delightful scent and one that I will definitely order again in bath truffles, this scrub, and maybe even a moisturizer.
This product is very easy to use. You only need a small amount to thoroughly scrub your arm, leg, or torso. I really like the fact that it clings to skin instead of falling off in clumps like the philosophy scrubs have been known to do. The Bermuda Beach Smoother is a very strong sugar scrub and I love the powerful scratching sensation, but those with sensitive skin or who enjoy a gentler scrub probably won't enjoy this product. After bathing or showering with this scrub, skin is left feeling super-smooth, soft, and hydrated. I can get dressed without using any additional cream or body butter because the Bermuda Beach Smoother leaves my skin in such great condition. I think its important to note that the oils in this scrub will leave the bottom of your shower or tub extremely slick. Use caution in exiting the shower and take the extra minute or two to wipe out the bottom so you don't break your neck the next day.
An extra bonus of using this product in the Buttermint scent is the lovely cooling and tingling sensation that the mint oils produce on your skin. I've been using this scrub in this particular scent for a couple of weeks now and it is just divine after a long day of 90+ degrees. Even after a hot shower, drying off, and getting dressed, my skin always feels super-cool and pleasantly tingly. I find the whole experience with Buttermint Bermuda Beach Smoother to be lovely.
This scrub is very affordable at $9.09 for an 8 ounce jar. You can get between 5 and 10 uses out of that size, depending on how much you use each time. I've found that I can use much less product than I normally would and still get excellent results from the smaller amount of this body scrub because it doesn't fall off in giant clumps like the philosophy scrubs do.
Overall, I have to admit that this is probably the very best body scrub that I've ever used. It is a wonderful, extra-strong exfoliating scrub that is pleasantly scented. It leaves skin smooth, soft, and hydrated. I have purchased 3 8-ounce jars of Bermuda Beach Smoother and I plan to buy many more in the future.
