Love it.

I read about using sponge applicators to apply liquid foundation in a Bobbi Brown makeup book. Then I saw reviews for the Beautyblender Sponge which looked like it would fit the bill. I bought the pink one with the cleanser, and have been using it ever since. You wet the sponge, squeeze out the excess water and apply your makeup by sort of dabbing it on almost like sponge painting a wall. You can use the pointy end to get in hard to reach places, but a never seem to have to. My liquid foundation goes on very nicely, looks very natural, and I don't have to get my fingers dirty. The cleanser cleans the sponge very well, but don't expect it to get all of the makeup out unless you are diligent about cleaning the sponge well. I prefer the pink Beautybender sponge to the black one that is also on the market. I found that the pink one works better for me. FYI One thing to keep in mind with the Beautyblender sponge is that if you use it to apply your makeup every day like I do, it will end up having makeup residue on it no matter how much you wash it.

The BEST way to apply foundation is the Beauty Blender

I have used pricey foundation brushes from a few different brands but I find the Beauty Blender is the easiest & quickest way to apply foundation for a flawless look. I will not use anything else to apply face makeup anymore. It is also very useful for concealer and cream blushes and highlights. It used to take me about ten minutes to put on face makeup but with the Beauty Blender it takes me less than five.  I have also turned two other friends onto the Beauty Blender because it is so amazing. It takes away the dreaded caked on makeup look & gives a smooth application every time. The pointed tip is also very convenient for around the eyes & nose. The way you wet the blender also makes it so you use less makeup and it will not soak your makeup and waste it. The cleanser also has a great smell & is very gentle with the sponge. I have had both for about eight months and my sponge is in great condition & I also have a lot of cleanser left.

It blends but no more so than any other sponge

Although I have a lot of makeup, I don't often go whole hog with liquid foundation. I most often wear a tinted primer and some bronzer. But when I do use liquid foundation I like to use either a foundation brush or a sponge. I read about the Beautyblender sponge in a magazine and it looked like something that I would enjoy. I purchased the Beautyblender in part because it was a green product. It came with a sample of the cleanser and my thought was I would not have to replace it as frequently because I can clean it. It is designed to last three months with regular use. On the Beautyblender website they say: Beautyblender's patent-pending elliptical shape makes application foolproof by allowing you to access hard-to-reach areas with stunning ease. Its suede texture is sensual to the touch and its unique curves fit the contours of your face, leaving your make up dazzling and undetectable. Beautyblender is latex free, non-allergenic and odor free. I t is true, the shape makes it easier to apply foundation around your nose and under your eyes, but I found the "suede texture" somewhat off putting. It seems to repel the foundation instead of spreading it well on my face. The most disturbing feature of the Beautyblender sponge I did not discover until I washed it. When I used the cleanser and rinsed, the rinse water was hot pink, the same color as the sponge. I though "yuck" as they suggest that you use the sponge damp for better coverage. I decided to use it (and wash it) a few more times. But the pink rinse water never went away. So it sits on my vanity until I can rinse it enough that the rinse water is clear.
