On May 28th, 2023, I purchased insurance online with SkiSafe. It was for my summer boat. After applying online I contacted an agent at Skisafe to go over coverages and receive documents for my Marina I was assured I would be covered from June 2023, until September 30th, 2023.I was offered a discounted rate for having a summer month policy with no coverage for the fall, winter and early spring. The Marina I have the boat docked required proof of insurance, which SkiSafe provided. I put my boat in the water the beginning of July thinking I was safe and insured when the entire summer I was driving uninsured because I was lied to and tricked by SkiSafe Insurance. On September 2nd 2023 I had an unfortunate collision with another boat in my marina. The current is super strong and made me drift into a much larger boat while trying to back out. I reported the accident to the marina and contacted the owner of the boat. I contacted SkiSafe and shared ontact and policy information with the owner of the boat I collided into. The owner had an estimate and filed a claim with my insurance. Ski Safe requested all the documents, inspected the damages, and requested the repair quote. On November 10th I was told SkiSafe denied the claim and the owner had to use his own insurance company to repair his much larger and nicer boat than mine. I also filed a photos and estimate as if the claim would be all set and it was just the process. I also went through the same process to repair the damage to my boat. Friday November 18th I was messaged by Alexander Hunke saying my claim was denied because my insurance coverage was from September 30th - December 1st 2023. Ski Safe sold me a policy where I was covered from June 2023 - September 30th for a Bowrider summer boat, and now they are playing bait and switch. I was very clear that I wanted tp purchase insurance for the summer months and would not need coverage after September 30th and until May-June of 2024 Where I would renew coverage. SkiSa

Ski safe boat insurance company is probably the worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. They treat their customers like peons with no human dignity. They try to use any hidden fine print in the policy whether legitimate or not to reduce their liability. The insurance adjuster Kristen treated me like I was way beneath her and had no right questioning her on policy coverage even when it turned up I was correct. Please read your policy fine print because there are plenty of obscure clauses that they use to decrease the coverage you believe you have purchased. No compassion while they dealing with you

I was a customer for over 20 years without a claim until I got a notice of non-renewal instead of my annual bill. I was told it was due to underwriting reasons which turned out to be because of a claim last fall. Shrink-wrap dripped on the upholstery burning it. Total claim will be less than $2500 and I have a $1000 deductible policy. Heed the warnings of this in the internet - I am lucky it is a small loss - others seem to have been not as lucky.

If you read any of the reviews about Ski Safe insurance company. You will see how they have treated all of their clients that didn't read the reviews. I am myself being one of those… We paid and trusted ski safe to insure our boat, to protect my families investment. We hit Struck a submerged object with my family and friends on board in our boat. After 8 months skiSafe Didn't even pay the mechanic that worked on our boat nor did ski safe pay for any of the damages or storage. We had to pay for eight months storage and the mechanic bill! I don't see how they are allowed to remain in business, it shocks me every day!!!!!! In my opinion as well as most of the people on these reviews Ski Safe insurance company are nothing but legal thieves!! Read the reviews do your own research people!!! I regret not doing my research about ski safe!! 9n this review below it asked if I would refer skiSafe to a friend….. I would not refer them to an enemy!! The only reason I gave it one star is because it was a requirement to post this!!!

Every, literally every contact with Ski Safe has been phenomenal. I had a lightening strike in the water near my boat last year. Their adjuster was on top of things right away and I got reimbursed. I just finishing raising my liability and they were there to offer advise and help me select my best option. I ended up using Ski Safe but they suggested I consider my homeowners insurance as an option even though they made no money on that. I cannot recommend them more!

WORST + CHEAP INSURANCE COMPANY. made a claim, they did not pay it due "underwriting issues" Anything I can do ?? Nothing, + they cancelled my policy even though they did Not pay the claim. Stay away form cheap insurance companies, Lesson learned.

I just finished dealing with this unprofessional insurance company and will never go back. We contracted with NorCal Mastercraft for repairs on a SkiSafe insurance claim back in early August. The shop was non-responsive and took months to service our boat. In the end, we got terrible customer service and our boat is still not 100% repaired back to pre-accident conditions. The incompetent estimator at this shop colluded with the insurance adjustor and together they contradicted our claim and refused to fix things that were absolutely damaged in the accident, claiming they were old damage. They are WRONG. Due to their unprofessionalism and incompetence, I have cancelled my insurance policy and I will NEVER do business with NorCal MasterCraft nor SKISafe Insurance again. Too bad, since I am buying a new boat this summer. They WILL NOT get my business.

You are asked to estimate the value of your boat and trailer. So I have a 1994 Bayliner in great condition and I estimated the trailer at $2k and the boat at $4k. They accepted this amount and charged me the premium accordingly. Well, I had a fire on the axle on the trailer and had to replace it and the brakes with a total spend of $2100. When I filed a claim they came back (after making me turn in all kinds of information) and told me the boat was not worth $2000 but only worth $410 therefore with my deductible I got a big fat ZERO. So SkiSafe charges thousands of people the premium - but if you make a claim - you are not going to get what you valued your boat at that THEY ACCEPTED. Go elsewhere for your insurance coverage.

SkiSafe boat insurance is cheap and great as long as you never really need to make a claim. I purchased my policy through Geico. When I had an accident they said I was in a "layup" period which does not cover the boat in the event of an accident on the water. They denied my claim and I'm out about 10K in damages. When I confronted them about the layup period the response was we told you to read through the policy and let us know if you had any questions. I think the fact that there is a period that your boat is not covered if you are using it should be something disclosed upfront and not just if someone asks about it. I had never had a boat and I knew nothing about all this and in the policy it says at the top that your covered all year but at the bottom with one small sentence it says may be subject to layup period. I think they will try to get out of any claim they can and be as vague as they can about the policy in order to do so. I will not use this company again. Notice the one other review is clearly an attempt to counter balance this bad review.

Don't even bother to check anywhere else. These guys are the best. Buy the proper policy and you will have no problems. Customer Service Settled my claim quickly and pleasantly. Available Plans Plan I got was good price and exactly what I needed.
