Skechers - Women's Bikers:Sightsee Review

Quick View: These shoes are a cute cross between Mary Janes and sneakers. However, they aren't for sports, just casual use. 

Skechers Women's Bikers:Sightsee

I bought these casual shoes in silver for a little kick. These shoes are a cute cross between Mary Jane shoes and sneakers with their rubber sole, leather and mesh material, and criss cross Velcro straps. The shoes are great for casual use but the straps are situated across the instep and secured with Velcro which, for normal walking is fine, but for running or strenuous actives is uncomfortable and the straps may pop. These shoes were originally made for bikers (bicycles not motorcycles) to wear without worry of getting their laces stuck in their spokes. They are good for biking for this reason but again, I am leery of the Velcro closure because the straps are very thin, thus the amount of hold is very tentative. 

The shoes are also quite heavy. They have a very thick, heavy rubber sole which absorbs shock but also feel weighty when walking more than just a short distance. After a while, I got used to the weight of the shoes and didn't really notice but I still don't wear these when I plan to be walking a lot because they do tend to fatigue my legs. In all, these are cute shoes (They look better on than in the pics.) that are good for casual wear with jeans, shorts, or casual jean skirts but not for exercise. Hang out in the Sightsees but, if you are really sightseeing, wear different shoes because these are heavy! 

My Viewpoint

I like my Skechers Women's Bikers:Sightsee shoes for the style. They look cute and are different from the usual athletic or casual shoe. They have an almost ballerina shoe look but are much sturdier and heavier. These are good fashion shoes but not exercise ones for the reasons I stated above. I give these shoes 3 stars for their fashion and construction but they are a 1.5 star athletic shoe.
