Combining the best of the old, with some of the finest sequences ever filmed, Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor, Jean Hagen and Debbie Reynolds were never better.   It tells the story of how sound suddenly invaded the movie studios and the silent stars had to quickly adapt to ‘talking' in the movies. There is nothing like a great movie to entertain you.

This is nothing like a great movie.

I can not begin to describe how unutterably bad this movie is. It is a Hollywood self-referent, artificial life-support genre hack piece of musical comedy. If you want to watch Gene Kelly (why?), Debbie Fisher (why?),...

I've shown it to dozens of people who hate "Old Movies" or "All Musicals" and they all say the same thing, "Wow! That was great!"

Attention singers and dancers:

If your passion is to sing at the tops of your lungs in the middle of a street in the rain, or to dance every where you go...  THIS IS THE MOVIE FOR YOU!

Go see Singing in the Rain!  This is a classic movie!  One of the best musicals you will ever see!  Steller dancing by Gene Kelley!

By the end of the movie you will want to rewind to watch the "make em laugh" song again and again!  Watch the man walk on the ceiling!  Watch him fall through the wall!  This movie will have you laughing and singing along!

They just don't make classic movies like this anymore!

this movie is one worth watching again and again.i have always enjoyed it, watched it with my kids and they enjoyed it as well.i love the singing in the rain portion of the movie. this one portion of the movie SINGING IN THE RAIN has been used in many movie type skits. The dancing in the movie is what dancing used to be and something i am sure many people can relate to. You don't get to see this kind of dancing musicals any more, it's as if everyone has forgotten that daning and singing used to be a thing of beauty and grace, something you don't see anymore.
the actors in this movie were very well...

This must be considered one of the best musicals (and movies) of all time.  The story is charming, the performances are outstanding, and the images are classic.  Gene Kelly gives the performance of a lifetime, Debbie Reynolds makes a great splash, and Donald O'Connor shows his charm to best advantage.  The music is superb, the choreography and dancing is excellent, and the whole effect lasts and lasts.  This film has won its place in our hearts, and should be required viewing for every American!

I have nothing but good things to say about this movie. It is the perfect blend of charm, comedy, wit, grace, and everything else that was Gene Kelly. If you aren't familiar with his work or dancing, watch this film. You'll also be pleased to find some of the most entertaining and creative song and dance numbers, featuring a cute and sassy Debbie Reynolds.  This is pure magic- the musical at its very best. Not too sweet, hilariously funny, and a feel-good film.

Singing in the Rain is such a classic movie!  The singing and dancing combined with the wonderful storyline make it an entertaining movie for all ages!  My 5 year old son has even decided he wants to learn to dance like Gene Kelly!

Gene Kelly was the epitome of masculinaty and grace all at the same time.

I can't believe that I click on my very first review and it happens to be my favorite movie ever. Singin' in the rain is just such a classic, anyone can enjoy it. A great movie to watch with the whole crew on a rainy day. The music & dance of that era simply can't be rivaled, though I must say that we also love the HSM type stuff.

Gene Kelley is wondeful in this movie! The dancing is amazing and the movie is very entertaining. This comes from an era when movies were actually good and wholesome! It has the old movie magic!  I would recommend this movie to anyone. Children and adults  alike will be entertained.  This is the real hollywood!

This is my all time favorite musical...I think this one set the basis for all future musicals, even the modern day ones.  My boys (11 and 14) even enjoy it.  The colors, scenes and music in this are unforgettable.  Gene Kelly is so hansom in this fill and Debbie Reynolds is just the cutest thing ever.

There are lots of movies that are labeled as "classics".  This doesn't make them good.  Although there is a lot to be said for innocent, family oriented movies.  This doesn't make my cut.  But I'm very biased against musicals.  Why sing something when you can just say it?

im rachael, and singin' in the rain is one of my favorite movies ever. while i love the older movies, this was one of the first that i can remember seeing. and it's magic has stuck with me ever since. i find myself singing its songs all the time. the ballet scene, i think, is one of the best in the film.

i wish they made movies like this NOW!!! it's so well choreographed. absolutely NO ONE can disturb me while i'm watching it. the dance numbers just draw me in every single time. i always imagine myself as an extra in the movie just watching in awe of these larger than life characters onscreen.
