I will never buy any sewing machine other than a Singer. They are built to last. I finally wore out my old Singer that is approximately 30 years old. I have had it repaired very few times, this last time around, they no longer make the piece that has worn out, and so I had to purchase a new… read full review »

I am in love with my new Singer 1120 sewing machine. I have found in very easy to use. The instruction book that comes with it is simple to follow and covers a wide range of sewing situations. — — This machine is great for beginners like me. I was able to start in minutes and made my first simple project, a lunch bag, the first night. The price point was perfect for an entry level machine as well. — — The Singer 1120 comes from the box ready to go. You only need to fill a bobbin and thread the machine. The tension settings are preset. — — I did find… read full review »

I love to sew. I don't do a whole lot of sewing but I do like to make a dress or halloween costumes here and there. I like a sewing machine that is easy to use and doesn't break down on me much. The Singer has really worked well for me. I have been sewing since I was ten years old. I was able to purchse my first sewing machine almost 2 years ago. The Singer was right at my price range and has not given me any problems since. —… read full review »

Several years ago, I purchased a brand-new Singer portable sewing machine. The model number is 5417C. I still find it difficult to thread the machine, so I actually avoid using it and do much of my mending and patching by hand. I have to review the instructions for threading the machine every time I take it out. — This model cost a couple of hundred dollars and has not needed any service, which is very much in its favor, as I am not near a service center. It is attractive and I very much like the feature of removable parts beneath the needle for good access to the seam.… read full review »

The first machine I ever used was a Singer Sewing Machine when I was 7 years old, and I have owned nothing but ever since. They are always keeping up to date with the newest ideas and are very well made. The only reason I've bought new ones is because they have come up with a new feature that would be useful to me. And the other machines usually went to someone else in the family, my daughter, a grandaughter and a daughter-in-law. My mother has had her last Singer for over 20 years and still sews like a dream. They are economical or you can get a more expensive one.… read full review »

I own a singer 301 A, the 301 series are the last singer made with all metal parts.  Meaning, as long as I dont decide to take it deep sea fishing, this machine will last , quite literally, FOREVER.  I paid $20 for this machine at a garage sale and another $70 to get it tuned up.  I love my 301A, it is the same model my mother owns, and we buy parts together.  If you are interested in owning your own machine, I strongly suggest an older model Singer, such as the 301 series, they are well worth the money, durable, easy to use, and unmatched in… read full review »

I purchased the Singer Prelude model on the spur of the moment....my son needed a costume for school the next day and there was no way I was going to pay what the stores wanted for the shabby material they supplied. This was around Halloween but not a halloween costume. I decided instead to buy the machine and make the "Super Hero" costume. I found the machine priced well, did a good job and although a little hard to thread...worth what I spent. It also, made me #1 mom for the day.Not for the serious sewers....but for the… read full review »

On the whole I am well satisfied with my Singers sewing machines...yes I have three!  My main complaint is that most evrything comes from China, or the parts are from the US but it is built in China...where do we get anything made in the US anymore. — I use my Singer a greatr deal for making garments, repairs and also to make some craft items.  I have used a Singer since I was 12 years old and am very comfortable using it.  I have tried other brands but always go back to a Singer. — I hope that there will always be a Singer sewing machine. —… read full review »

I don't think you can go wrong with Singer.  I leared to sew on one and my school sold it to me the year after I finished school.  I still own that machine and it is one of my faves.  I am now 65 years old.  Yes, it is electric!  What does that say for the way a Singer lasts?  Volumes! — Naturally the new ones do much more than my old machine and that is why I sometimes have to have a new one.  This latest Singer in my collection is a prize. — Happy sewing. — kd13 —… read full review »

The Singer 7444 is easy to thread.  The bobbin is easy to wind.  The booklet included with the machine is clearly worded, clearly illustrated, and intelligently indexed.  The pedal operates the stitching mechanism with very little pressure exerted.  The tension adjusts without undue effort. — The price for the machine is affordable.  This machine is highly recommended for the beginning seamstress or for those who need a machine for lightweight fabrics.  — — … read full review »

I really like this sewing machine. it is so easy to use and has many options that are very usefull. I have not had a single problem at all!  I have not used all of the attachments, nor have i used all of the different stitches.  I believe that it has about 50 different stitches!  even though it is not an embroidery machine, it has alot of embroidery stitches.  I also like that it has a little green light when I have it set so that the stitch is at exactly the right… read full review »

The singer sewing machine for embroidery is great the only con is having to buy the extra software.  The price of the machine is reasonable and it is very user friendly but you have to know how to use a computer.  This is my firt embroidery sewing machine and I am very happy with it and the results it produces.  I make blankets and was paying the local shop about $5 to embroider a block that I can now do for nothing except time.  I highly recommend this… read full review »

I have used my Singer to sew basic clothing and am sewing a quilt on it currently with just simple quilting.  I have the Scholastic Singer and it does well with many ranges of material thickness.  It did have problems with four layers of thick denim, but with thin, I imagine it would do better.  Overall, I am very pleased with my machine and plan to use it for many more years to come.  It is a good product for the… read full review »
