This was my second sewing machine and is still the machine I use most often. When I got this machine, I had not been sewing for very long, and I was able to learn how to use the machine very easily. I mostly use it to sew clothes for my daughter, and it has been the perfect machine for that. It offers many different decorative stitches. It is very easy to thread the machine, change stitches, and change the bobbin. For the amount of different stitches you receive, this is a very good value for the money. I would highly recommend this sewing machine to the beginner or intermediate sewer. In my opinion, Singer is an excellent brand of sewing machine. This is a very durable machine. I have had it for quite a while now and have not had any problems with it. Nothing has broken on it so far. It is very easy to move if you do not have a dedicated area to sew. I was able o teach myself how to use this sewing machine by myself with very little experience in sewing. If you are looking for a good sewing machine for a beginner or intermediate sewer that provides a good value, I would highly recommend this sewing machine. Singer is a very dependable brand of sewing machine. I can guarantee that you will not regret purchasing this sewing machine. It can be used to sew such a variety of different things.

I bought this machine a while back as a starter machine.  I am a young mother and wanted something that would be simple enough to use and perform basic functions.  I really like that this machine is very simple to thread and maintain tension.  My mother had a very expensive Husqvarna machine and we were always fiddling with the tension and it would bind up.  I am not as skilled as she was and that is why I wanted something much less complicated.  I love the self threading feature.  My eyesight is not very good and it cuts out so much time when changing the thread colors to just whip it right in with the self threader.  The only trouble that I have experienced with this machine is the bobbin holder.  If the bobbin holder is not seated properly it will cause it to bind so I just give it a quick check prior to use and it occurs very infrequently.  This is a great machine for a beginner sewer.
