this sewing machine is not complicated but has lots of deluxe features.  Not alot of extra accessories.  most of the time in sewing you don't really need alot of stuff your not going to use this has everything that you will actually use.  Ease of operation makes it an attractive buy.

I bought the Singer 9940 about three years ago when I wanted to upgrade to an electronic machine. Prior to that  I had a manual Singer, but it only had about 10 stitch selections and I wanted more options.  This sewing machine is more pricey than some, but you get what you pay for and it comes with a 25 year warranty on major parts.  The bobbin and thread load in differently than most manual machines, but it was very easy to learn and get used to. There are so many stitching options, I probably still haven't used them all! There are embroidery stitches, and the electronic screen is easy to navigate once you have use dit a couple of times. Excellent for sewing heavy materials such as jeans all the way through very delicate fabrics. It has an auto threading option, but I find that takes more time than just doing it myself but still cool! The needle is easy to change and so are the feet (it comes with several different types including a button foot and options for button stitching. Great machine!
