When you need a basic sewing machine for the best price.

I purchased this sewing machine for basic alterations and simple projects. I am by no means a sewing enthusiast. I found this machine to do what I needed to do without breaking the bank. It is very simple to use and has been very durable. If I were more into sewing I would have looked more into the electronic sewing machines.

Simple to learn

I bought the machine for my daughter who is teaching herself to sew and she loves it. She started with a little cheap machine and it didn't last long. We went with Singer because it has been around so long. She found it easy to start sewing with right out of box. We haven't had it long enough to find out how durable it is though. It works well on jeans which is what she uses it for most.

Singer 2932 New to me

4

I bought this thinking I was going to teach myself how to sew, and thought it was about time. This sewing is all new to me. I am happy that I can understand the manual and sew a straight seam on this machine. It's a - I think, basic sewing machine, it's my first and so far it's going well. I have managed to mend a lot of things that my children wanted repaired without too much trouble. Only problem was sewing velcro, and it might be me, but the pressure foot kept sticking, or the needle, not sure where the problem came from. But after reading about zippers, I was able to replace one - it was a breeze. I like the different stitches it offers and have tried some out on scrap (cut off jeans) they work great. My next big step is to get some material and a pattern and sew a tote bag, which should be easy. I really like the feel of the machine and it's not noisy so I can sew while watching tv. I would recommend this one for a beginner like myself.

Singer 2932 good simple sewing but had repairs after 3 months

3

I received my Singer 2932 for Christmas last year. I was very excited as it was my first sewing machine ever (besides my mother's that I used to use when I was younger). The instructional manual was VERY useful in helping me to get everything set up and running. I still reference it from time to time when I need a refresher or something seems to be wrong. The machine is a nice machine, simple and efficient. It is easy to run and able to make numerous stiches. A very basic machine to learn and grow on. That being said, I had to get it repaired after 3 months of a small amount of use. It got stuck after sewing a dress and I couldnt get the needle to move up or down. A simple cleaning and maintenance was all that was required but the price of that was more than half of what the machine is worth. I havent had any problems since (not quite a year since the repair). I use it more now than I did then and things are still running smooth.

Great little work horse

I've had this machine for nearly two years and I have been sewing for ten. My husband bought it as a surprise for me because I was about to throw my other machine out the window! I was skeptical at first because all the reviews I read were not so favorable. I have had no major issues at all though. I sew with increasing regularity and I just **love** this machine. It has handled everything that I have thrown at it from simple projects like skirts and PJs, to more complicated things like cloth diapers and multilayered ring slings. I have never had an issue with tension and the only problems I've had can all be attributed to operator error. There are many stitch functions to choose from and switching back and forth is a breeze. I do recommend that you read and keep the user manual. There are some really useful tips in there. My best friend was over at my house and borrowed this sewing machine for a quick project. She loved it so much that she owned one by the end of the day!

The Singer 2932 sewing machine is easy to use

5

My husband gave me the Singer 2932 sewing machine three years ago for a Christmas present. It works great and is simple to use. I have used it for sewing quilts, halloween costumes, dresses, and clothes for my kids. I have even used it to sew Levi quilts, which I have heard can be kind of rough on your machine. The owner's manual gives clear instructions, teaching you how to use everything. It came with extra footers, like the zipper foot, and the button foot hole, and button foot. My favorite part of the sewing machine is the self threader. The sewing machine that I had before this one was a very old Singer that did not have this option and it is so nice to have it now. I don't know exactly how much money my husband paid for it, but I do believe it is one of their models that doesn't cost very much. If you are looking for a computerized machine that is difficult to use, this is not the one for you.

I received my singer sewing machine as a gift, lets just say I wont need anyone else to buy me another one! This will last me a life time and I wouldn't purchase any other brand. It makes sewing so easy and everything is so simple to understand.

Great Singer Machine! Great for Home projects!

I purchased my Singer sewing machine a year or so ago. I was looking for something that would be portable (I do not have a sewing room or craft room), easy to store (we do not have much storage in our home) and easy to use. This sewing machine is perfect for that! Mine came with a plastic storage box, that keeps the dust and such out of the machine. The machine itself comes with the smaller items storage area. Easy to use, very good instruction book that helps you figure out what stiches and such you need. I actually started using it without reading the book first, that is how easy it is to use! I love the easy to see stiching choices (diagrams right on the machine) and it is super easy to thread and to wind bobbins on this sewing machine. Great for home projects. I have made most of the curtains in our home, and nearly all of our throw pillows. I have made purses and small clothing adjustments. It is so versitile! Well worth the money. Great value.
