Singer has always been a name associated with quality, and that has not changed over the years. This sewing machine is a good example of that quality. It is powerful enough for denim, but also performs equally well with the sheerest fabrics. The feeddogs can be dropped for precision seams and decorative stitching, and the stable work surface allows easy maneuvering of your work. It automatically senses the weight of fabrics, and you don't have to manually adjust tensions. The bobbin loads easily, and it is easy to use the self-threader. The only drawback I have found is that the motor isn't quite strong enough to sew garment-weight leather.
I use this machine almost daily, as I sew for myself, my family, and friends. I make clothing as well as curtains, cushions, and various household items as well. This machine gives me no problems, not even when switching fabrics abruptly. It is definitely worth the money.
