as a long time seamstress, though not in the business, i have made everything from shorts to suits. while having used many different brands of machines, the mechanical singer provides me with the easiest and best results. many others have difficult to use threading schemes and gadgets that were never used by me. grandmother's old machine/s have always been my preference and proven to be my favorite. there are, i'm sure others on the market today with simplified ease of use, however, i cannot afford those.
