Never buy cribs from Simplicity!!!

Simplicity for Children Aspen 4-in-1 Deluxe Crib — 

I bought this crib when my now 4 year old was a baby - ended up being recalled. Tried to return it to get my money back and they refused... told me they weren't accepting refunds but would send out a "repair kit" well, that takes time! If anyone who works for the company is a PARENT themselves they would know a child isn't going to sleep in a crib after a few weeks with mom & dad!
I was furious with Simplicity, I had a travel swing that was recalled for an injury (another company) and they accepted the return but they wouldn't accept a refund for children DYING. I went ahead and ordered the repair kit and didn't put my son in the crib anymore. The repair kit never came in the mail.
Fast forward 2 years... my 2nd son was born. My mom convinced me since the old one was recalled they were probably much pickier and things should be better now. I shouldn't have listened to mom's advice but I did. I bought the crib only to find out a few months later that THAT crib was recalled too. Of course, I wasn't able to return that one either. I ordered the "repair kit" although I figured I wouldn't get it. It was shocking to me that I actually DID receive it - almost a MONTH later. Where was my son to sleep during the time? Did they expect me to go out and buy another crib during that time? I would think if a company doesn't want to lose money they would at least have the common courtesy of overnighting the repair kit, after all, it was their mistake. Or better yet, don't make the SAME safety hazard on 2 crib models in two years! I ended up ditching cribs altogether and buying a pack n play for my son.
I wouldn't buy anything from Simplicity they obviously aren't concerned about a child's safety. If I were the mother of one of the infants who DIED from suffocation by falling in the slats of the crib as it broke in the middle of the night - I'd sue!
