I finally went to the mattress store to buy a new bed after enjoying my previous bed for almost 20 years (well, the last few years it was definitely time for a new one!). I tried the Simmons Beautyrest Black Rosalyn and fell in love with the plush top. It was so comfortable yet supportive! Beware, it doesn't last.
The store first sent me the wrong one in the Beautyrest Black series (Helena). While waiting for Rosalyn, While I slept on the Simmons Helena while waiting for Roaslyn, I noticed the plush top rapidly lost it's comfort, sagging in places. The store assured me to wait until I got the right mattress.
I have slept on it for 3 weeks and it has already pancaked an inch. I am not a big person (120 lbs). There is no support left, where I sleep it is completely flat, just like my 20 year old bed! Thank goodness I bought it at one of those stores with a comfort guarantee. At first the sales rep tried to tell me it's just the first few weeks of adjustment (what, to a canoe bed?). So I took a measuring tape and measured the height of the mattresss. The 15.5" mattress is now 14.25" at it's highest, puffiest point. I'll keep you posted on whether I finally have bed success. I am expecting a new bed tomorrow (no more Simmons for me).
You know the supposed individual pocket coils so you have support? No sign of it working on this bed, where I sleep on the mattress is one flat hard surface just like the old bed I threw out.
Huge disappointment Simmons, especially for a bed costing several thousand dollars! If this bed's initial comfort and support were remedied then this might be a bed to consider but now it's 2 for 2 in the flaw department.
