I have arthritis in my back and hips and was looking to replace our old matress for something more comfortable.  We looked at regular beds, but I discovered that a firm pillowtop was more supportive.  We tried out a LOT and decided on this one, even though it was a bit pricier than we wanted to spend.

It started out just great, but now after about 6 months I have found that the pillowtop has seemed to crush down forming a depression that I keep rolling into during the night.  I wake up anywhere from 4-5am with my back hurting because of this.  I don't find that it supports me as well as when it was brand new, although at 6 months, I don't feel it should have gotten this bad.  My husband's side is the same way.

I'm also disappointed that in order for the company to stand behind their product, you had to purchase a very expensive mattress cover (10 year warranty).

We had the exact same experience -- 6 months of pleasure and then suddenly the middle began to cave in. I am waking up with major hip and back pain when never before was this an issue. We spent almost $2000 on this mattress and after 6 months had a technician from Simmons come out to honor the warranty. He took pics and the company decided it was "within normal wear and tear" and declined to replace the bed. Total rip off and I would never do business with them again. $2000 for 6 months of mattress is ridiculous.

Sounds like a very familiar story, my simmons pillow top looks and feels worse than my 10 year old mattress that was able to turn and flip as needed,,,ONE BIG RIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPOFFFFFFFFF...

Sorry this didn't work out. I bought an "original mattress factory mattress" extra firm and it still has the same spring it always had.
