Most HelpfulMy son had problems with spitting up after switching exclusively to formula when he was two months old. I have no idea why he did not spit up when he was also getting breast milk but it was obvious that the problem stopped when we had to go completely to formula. He did ok on soy formula for awhile and...
read full review »With our first child we used Enfamil A.R. When our second child had reflux we tried Similac instead. The Similac sensitive was among the first we experimented with and we quickly determined it to be a winner!!!!! We consistently used the Similac Sensitive R.S. (R.S. means rice starch which simply helps thicken the formula in baby's belly to avoid being spit back up.) Not only did we like what the formula did for reflux, we like what the company had to offer. Similac coupons or checks, what have you, were always arriving after we registered online! I love a good deal. I almost never...
read full review »Both of my babies were born with very sensitive stomachs. I primarily breastfed, but also liked to supplement with formula to help my sanity and give me some extra sleep! I tried several different "sensitive" formula's on both of my children. My son settled on a soy product that worked well, but my daughter was just not doing well with any products. My doctor recommended that I try Similac Sensitive R.S.. It is supposed to decrease spit-up, as well as fussiness and gas. Within 2 days of starting the formula, I was able to tell a difference in my daughter and her sensitive stomach. ...
read full review »I began using Similac Sensitive RS almost immediately after my son was born. He was nearly ten pounds at birth, and I just could not produce enough milk to satisfy him so I immediately had to suppliment. During his first couple of months, my son was crying quite a bit, would have a rock-hard stomach, gas, and would spit up quite a bit after most feedings. Being a young parent, I was not sure what the issue was, and when we went on vacation a family member bough my son some formula. Not knowing what type to get, the got Similac Sensitive. It was great! My son's gas, spit up and stomach issues almost...
read full review »My grandaughter was on the soy based Similac first , followed by regular Similac. Between her suffering through frequent spit ups and terrible bouts of diarrhea , we were not sure what to do. We even tried the old stand by of adding cereal to the bottle but even that didn't help her. Her pediatrician finally gave us a few sample cans of Similac R.S. All I could say is that it was heaven sent. Her tummy calmed down, she slept better (we were told that the "RS." means that rice starch is added to the formula) so her little belly must have felt fuller longer. The only trouble we had after...
read full review »This formula is great for babies who have frequent spit up. It comes only in liquid, 32oz bottles, which are between $5.50 and $7 each, depending on the store. The container it comes in is wonderful, as it has a lid and is very easy to store. The bottle is made of plastic, which is great for recycling. It does not have a foul smell, like the Enfamil Nutramigen. My son spits up excessively normally. We have not been able to use regular formula since he was about a week old. (Now is 8 months old). We switched first to Enfamil A.R., which is good, but it is VERY thick, and it is not easy to store...
read full review »My son was diagnosed with severe reflux and food intolerances. While he was partially breastfed, I also had to supplement. We tried many different brands of formula and many different types of formula. We tried enfamil, bright beginnings, parents choice, just to name a few. We also tried ready to feed and powdered versions. The ready to feed version was easier for my son to digest and keep down. The powdered versions always came right back up in our faces. This formula is a good value for the money and it really does work for babies with sensitive stomachs.
The smell is unpleasant,...
read full review »I used Similac Sensitive RS for my child after Similac Advance. It sat well on my child's stomache. She also didn't spit up much either. When I first started using the producted it only came in the ready to use form. Now it has expanded in to the powered form and its still the same price. My daughter doesn't fuss as much. It doesn't take much to fill her up and she is gaining the proper amount of weight she is supposed to. The ready to use formula is very handy. I can just grab a bottle and walk out the house other than take the powdery form with me. The only dislike a had about the ready to use...
read full review »Similac Sensitive RS is the best formula that I've used (two kids, many formulas along with breast milk). It is thickened which really helped my son's spit up and it is easy to digest. He is not fussy and has slept through the night since he was two months old. Some people complain because corn syrup is the main ingredient. In most formulas, lactose or milk is the main ingredient. Hello! Corn syrup and lactose are essentially the same (SUGAR). They are both natural. Corn syrup prevents constipation. If you don't have lactose (and this formula doesn't) then you're going to have...
read full review »My daughter was born in July of 07. I tried just about every formula because I was not able to breast feed. My daughter was fussy and spit up so much that when I took her for a check up the daughter told me I could not take her home.
I started using Similac R.S. because the formula was so much thicker. I have only positive things to say about the formula itself. I think the only thing I would complain about is that it is only available in liquid and doesn't keep very long in the refrigerator. It did however almost completely eliminate the fussiness and spit up.
Similac Sensitive RS is a wonderful product. My daughter went through 5 different formulas until we actually came to this one. Our daughter would drink a bottle of formula and about 5 minutes after she was done, she wasspitting up and very sick. It was very projectile. She couldn't hold any of the other formulas down and was never satisfied. Once we finally got to the point of finding a good formula for our daughter we were very happy that our child could be satisfied and hold it down.
