Most HelpfulI used this formula for my now seven month old baby since she was two months because we believed she was lactose intolerant and she did not have the typical digestion problems with this one that she had with other formulas ....no vomiting, spiting up, reflux, gas, constipation ect. But, as the months...
review »When i first brought my first born baby boy home, i wonder why he was so unhappy? He cried constantly, it tried gas drops, colic water, everything. Then someone told me to try a different formula. I never would have thought of that being that this was my first baby. My boyfriend and i took him to the pediatrian, she told us why he was crying so much it's because he was holding on to his gas and it was building up in his stomach making him very uncomfortable and upset. She told us to a organic formula, made from soy, needless to say that it didn't work. So we took him back to the pediatrian and this...
review »Similac Sensitive was the only formula that worked with my son. He had trouble with colic, gas, and acid reflux. The interesting thing is that I have three other friends with infants that were experiencing the same thing. They all ended up on Similac Sensitive. I tried so many different types and brands (with my pediatricians approval first). It is not good to switch formulas too much. I recommend if you have trouble with the traditional formula to try the Similac Sensitive first. Now, the powder is a little too frothy, so I always used the ready made liquid, or the concentrated (add water)....
review »SIMILAC SENSITIVE WORKS WELL FOR OUR CHILD WHO WAS SPITTING UP ALL THE TIME WITH OTHER FORMULAS.
I decided to bottle feed my baby, even though I was told by many not to. My son Jaxon drank the formula that was given to him in the hospital with no problem. Within a week of being home, things changed. We went for our routine check-up a week after he was home and the doctor was not happy. He was not gaining weight. So I was forced to feed him even more and had to return to the doctor's office every other day until she was happy with his weight gain. It was quite difficult force feeding him and to top it off, he was getting extremely cranky after each bottle feeding. The screaming and crying was...
review »My son started on Similac Advance with Early Shield at the hospital. He was great on it for about 3 weeks, then turned very gassy and fussy. My doctor says he was colicy and would grow out of it at 3-4 months, but it broke my heart to see him so upset and bloated from the gas so I tried all kinds of formulas to help him out: Similac organic, Similac Isolmil, Enfamil Lacto-Free, Enfamil Gentlease, Enfamil Lipil, Similac Sensitive and Sensitive RS. The only one that worked is the Similac Sensitive in the orange container. Not sure why since my pediatrician says newborns aren't lactose intolerant,...
review »When all other formula's failed, when the baby's tummy still hurt, when we were wore plum out, as a last ditch effort before heading back to the pediatrician we decided to try one more formula on the shelf. That formula was Similac Sensitive (orange lid). As we were putting it in our buggy a lady walked up and got her some concentrated Similac Sensitive. She looked up and seen that we had just *seconds before* placed the powdered kind in our buggy. She politely asked if we were having trouble finding the right kind and we told her our story. Our daughter was hungry but it seemed as though any formula...
review »MY SON IS NOW 9 WEEKS OLD AND FROM ABOUT 3 WEEKS HE DEVELOPED PROBLEMS WITH SEVERE GAS. IT WOULD KEEP HIM UP AT NIGHT AND WE WOULD SPEND HOURS TRYING TO GET HIM TO QUIT SCREAMING. AT HIS ONE MONTH APPOINTMENT WE TALKED TO HIS PEDIATRICIAN ABOUT TRYING A NEW FORMULA AND THEY RECOMMENDED THIS ONE. WE HAVEN'T HAD A PROBLEM SINCE. IT IS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE FOR SIMILAC USERS WHO HAVE FUSSY CHILDREN AND SINCE IT IS STILL MILK BASED, THEY ARE GETTING ALL OF THE NUTRIENTS THEY NEED. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE I CAN SEE IN THE FORMULA IS THAT IT IS LACTOSE FREE. THAT DOES NOT MEAN THOUGH THAT YOUR...
review »This is a great formula and stays true to it's name and description! My daughter had a really hard time with gas as early as two weeks old. The doctor did notwant us to give her any gripe water or mylecin drops so we chose to try Similac for sensitive tummies. Within 24 hours she was compltely different. No more drinking half an ounce and then crying because her tummy hurt. She started burping better and it really seemed to calm her stomach.
Three months old now and she is still on it and doing great. One small con for those of you Costco frequenters...you cannot buy this in their store. It is...
