I decided to bottle feed my baby, even though I was told by many not to. My son Jaxon drank the formula that was given to him in the hospital with no problem. Within a week of being home, things changed. We went for our routine check-up a week after he was home and the doctor was not happy. He was not gaining weight. So I was forced to feed him even more and had to return to the doctor's office every other day until she was happy with his weight gain. It was quite difficult force feeding him and to top it off, he was getting extremely cranky after each bottle feeding. The screaming and crying was so intense, I broke down and cried often. I was trying to hold it together at the doctor's office, but a caring nurse noticed I was on the brink of another breakdown. She started to ask me some questions and grew concerned. She brought the doctor back into the room and we went over the story again. She decided to start Jaxon on Similac Sensitive for one week and we would go from there. I was so frazzled that I was willing to do anything. I was grateful that I wasn't going to have to drag my baby out in the freezing cold weather more than I had to, so I grabbed the samples that she gave me and out the door I went. I started him on it immediately and added some gas drops for a little extra measure. I noticed after his third bottle feeding that he was less cranky. I thought to myself that it was probably a fluke, but continued to use it. We went back to the doctor the following week and my little baby gained 1 pound 4 oz! I couldn't believe it! His crankiness was tolerable and he seemed to sleep better. Thanks to Similac Sensitive, my baby now has gained the weight he has needed, he is not cranky, (except for the "time to feed me mommy" cries) and he is hardly spitting up. The formula is designed for sensitive tummies, reduces gas and spit up. If your baby is unbearably cranky and is not gaining weight....talk to your doctor to see if this would be ok for your baby. I highly reccommend it! A friend of mine's daughter went 5 months before her doctor decided to try her on it! Don't wait! Use this product...it will definitely save your sanity!
