I used this for my son when he was having trouble with regular formula. He has done terrific on the powder version of this formula but does not like the ready to feed. I feel like it has a bad smell and wish it would stay fresh longer

This formula is effective at helping fussy and gassy babies that are struggling with digestion of their food. It is also very convenient to have a ready-to-go formula that simply needs to be poured into a bottle. We like both of these factors very much, but the price can be a bit higher for these added benefits. Typically, we try to get by on powdered formula. I would recommend using a powdered formula or a more basic formula if the parents and baby can handle that. However, if someone doesn't mind spending more and needs the convenience, then this is a very high quality product. Easily Digested This formula does seem a bit more gentle and easy to digest for a baby, and ours seem to sleep better after using it as well. Ease of Preparation This is the easiest formula I have ever prepared. The container simply needs to be opened and poured into a bottle (and possibly set in a container of hot water to warm to the correct temperature).

I started with the regular Similac in the blue container but the Hospital had to switch him to this Sensitive Similac after a couple of feedings. He took to this formula wonderfully. He kept it down and didn't seem to have an abnormal amount of gas. When he was a couple of months old we tried to switch back to the Similac blue container because of the cost but he immediately experienced symptoms. So, we immediately switched back to the Sensitive Similac and stuck with it until his first birthday. This formula seemed to work great for him. He had normal bowel movements. He didn't seem overly hungry with this formula and he seemed to enjoy the taste. We didn't experience any issues with spitting up either. He would burp normally. His feedings progressed as usual with the normal milestones and it seemed like this formula would fill him up and satisfy him. Additionally, he was always at his target weight with every check up. We never had to add rice or oatmeal to the formula either. He also transitioned to whole milk just fine. I would use this formula again if I had the chance.

My baby had some major tummy issues the day she born and was put in the special care nursery because of it. After many hours of observation and testing all they had to do was change her formula. Easily Digested It took my daughter a couple of weeks to get use to it. The taste seemed good because she drank them down with no problem. She still was gassy for a couple of weeks until it kicked in. The issue she had with constipation was helped almost instantly. She had two bottles of similac sensitive and it pretty much cleared her system that night. Ease of Preparation I have actually been using the concentrate which is very easy to mix. It is equal parts formula and water. In fact what I do now is fill the bottles with 4 ounces of concentrate and put them in the fridge. When she needs a bottle I fill them up with 4 ounces of hot water and it makes a nice warm bottle for her. The ready to feed is the easiest but it is also the most expensive and when your baby gets up in ounces you have to run to the store more often. The powder is no that hard to mix especially if you mix it with warm water. If you mix with warm water you will not experience clumps of formula it will mix evenly.

When my infant was having gas issues with regular formula and breastmilk, my doctor suggested that we try Similac sensitive formula. This baby is my second child and my first child had similar issues with baby formula when she was an infant. With my first child, the sensitive formulas were not an option and we had to use the extra expensive formulas (which at that point were not covered by health insurance). This formula was my 2nd baby's saving grace! Not only did we see immediate positive results with using this formula, we also were able to save a significant amount of money because we did not have to opt for the extra expensive formulas. I love how you can easily open and close this formula bottle. It is much more user friendly then the competitor's metal cans that do not have a re-sealable cap. It is smaller than a bottle of milk so it fits perfectly in my fridge without taking up too much space. It also lasts for 48 hours after opening which was another bonus. My daughter is now gas free and the happy baby she is supposed to be. I cannot rave enough about this formula!

When my daughter was three days old...oh boy this sweet baby turned COLIC (which I thought was a made up term...it wasn't). I tried two different formulas and neither helped AT ALL!! Then a friend suggested I try not only the Lactose free Similac but also the ready feed. I thought that was CRAZY because it is more costly but I was at the end of my rope. I ended up using coupons and used the ready feed until she was three months and then switched to the powder. Do you know it was right away, when I switched to the ready feed (perhaps because its thicker, I'm not sure) that she became a new baby and at 4 1/2 WEEKS (Not a type WEEKS) she started sleeping through the night!!! It was a real life savor to us, and to our little one. Not to mention how easy it is to just pour and serve!
