Similac Organic Baby Formula —

My midwife recommended this formula (Similac Organic) shortly after my son was born, as he was having trouble latching on, and needed something to eat until my milk came in. My husband picked up two bottles of the ready to feed (liquid) formula from our local Target, where they cost about $6.50 each. I was very reluctant to use this product because I wanted to exclusively breastfeed my child, but I had not choice. i did feel good about it being organic, at least. The bottle is easy to pour and in a durable container, but SMELLS VERY BAD, maybe because of the vitamins. It also stained some of my son's clothing. However, I think this is probably true for most formulas. The two bottles did last a while (even though we had to feed him every 2 hours because of jaundice), and we used the organic formula for about a month.

As far as Similac goes, I had a hard time finding coupons for their products (other brands were easier to find and more often on sale) but my son didn't have any problems digesting the formula. Short shelf life once opened.
