This is a great product. If you go to similac.com you can get free samples of the kind you use..and they also send you lots of $5.00 of coupons. — It does not eliminate gas and the smell is horrible but I am pretty sure all formulas are the same. Our son was born 2 months early and after a 17-day stay in the NICU, our peditrician told us to use name brand formula. Being first time parents, we flocked to Similac. They were the sponsors of the year for the hospital diaper bags, so why not? — We started our son on the regular milk and he was just fussy as ever. We thought it was normal. How could we know? I tried so many different formula trying to find the right one for my grand daughter. Nothing was working so I finally took her to the hospital and the doctor informed me that she was colic and to switch to Similac Advance - Soy. It was my life saver. Not a formula for babies sensitive to cow's milk.

Similac Isomil Advance is marketed as a formula for babies with an intollerance to cow's milk based formula. Do you know that most babies with an intollerance or allergy to cow's milk, will more likely than not, also have an intollerance to soy based formula? Such was the case with my daughter. She could not tollerate regular cow's milk based formula because she has acid reflux. We tried every formula under the sun including Isomil Advance. Easy to digest for babies with milk allergies

I started off with Enfamil's Prosobee, soy based formula, and for the most part was satisfied. Since then I've switched to Similac Isomil, soy based formula and noticed right away a big difference! It has less of an odor, doesn't leave stains on baby clothes, and their ready to feed form of this formula is so much more convenient than Enfamils, because it comes in a twist top plastic bottle rather than a metal can requiring a can opener and an air tight storage container. Great on sensitive tummy, helped reflux, disolves easily.

I've had to use a soy formula on my two littlest boys. The youngest is on Similac Isomil now which has been much easier on his tummy than others we've tried. He has a touch of acid reflux and between the formula, burping him frequently, and holding him upright for a while after feedings we were really able to cut out the reflux. My husband and I considered the liquid or ready to feed versions to cut down on air bubbles, but went with powder after seeing how quickly it dissolves. This formula was a god send our daughter had a hard time with other formulas she couldn't keep anything down and she constantly had diarrhea so her doctor switched her to Similac Advanced Soy and with in a few days she was keeping the formula down and her diarrhea went away she was sleeping thru the night and wasn't fussy I am so glad my daughters doctor decided to switch her to sililac advanced soy we don't know what we would have done with out… read full review »

When I first started using it Everything was fine for a day. Then my baby was constipated for three days, very smelly gas, lots of spit up and vomitting! thanks god I was up one night when he choked on this formula and had it all over his face. My grandchild was switched to this formula because she was not tolerating the other ones. This formula proved to be very effective. She no longer was "gassy" and irritable after feeding. It is also cost effective. I would consider this formula as a "Specialty" because it was recommend as an alternative. However, it is priced the same as the other formulas. My daughters pediatrician put her on this formula because she couldnt digest any other formula. When she was using a different kind of formula she had constant diahrea and stomach problems. This formula has been so helpful when it came to my babies colic. Not only that it's healthy for my baby. I have seen a huge improvement in her eating since it was changed to Similac Soy.
