When I found out I could no longer nurse my daughter, I had two decisions to make: — 1. What kind of bottles? — 2. What type of formula will she take? — While I knew the two would take forever to get straight, I also knew my daughter was hungry twenty four hours a day! With so… read full review »

I used this formula with my first child and it had her constipated for a week. Enfamil is basically the same formula and that constipated my son when I used it with him. — This formula doesnt mix very well either, it has more bubbles in it than Good Start or Soy formulas. —… read full review »

i use this product cause i get wic. but we also buy it when we run out of wic cards its a really good formula. its not to thinck. and it not to thin i would recomend it to any mom or mom to be. i would even say its just about the only formula i would use out of the other brand names. i would most likely change if some one else pointed out to me there was a better formula out… read full review »

I would definitely vote Similac Advance as the best formula for my baby. My baby is not a good eater, and he doesn't eat any formula at the very beginning. But to give him enough calcium and other nutrient supplement, I decided to try every formula brand to him. I've tried Goodstart, Enfamil, Similac with different type. Finally my baby picked up Similac advance and never refuse formula anymore. He even asked for it when he felt the need. :) Plus Similac advance he drank didn't give him much gas, and he never feel fuzzy after feeding the formula. So I sticked to it for my baby till he is more… read full review »

I had to supplement breastfeeding with formula from the beginning and was unable to continue breastfeeding at all after four months. We started with Similac Advance in the hospital and decided to continue with it. My son never had a problem with this formula. — I also like that it comes in different sizes and forms. I usually used the large can of powder at home and kept smaller cans of powder at my parent's and in-laws.  The 2 and 8 ounce ready-made bottles are perfect for nighttime feedings or to put in the diaper bag for on-the-go meals.  Especially after they made… read full review »

i highly reccommend similac advanced formula with iron. it has everything a young baby needs from birth to 12 months. i have been faithfully using this product since 1997 when my first child was born. when i weaned him from breastfeeding, i was able to incorporate a formula that i could trust to be just as nutritious as breastmilk. this formula contains the supplements DHA and ARA, which are very important for brain and eye development. they are also the key nutrients found in breastmilk, so i know i can trust this product. now that i am a mom of 5 with an infant in the house, i am also… read full review »

My daughter was born with a intolerance to breast milk, as were my other two, so we tried soy.  She started throwing it up after about 2 weeks. She screamed all the time, she was never full, and always wanted a bottle.  We checked with her doctor and she prescribed Similac Alimentum for lactose and protein intolerance.  She thrived on that as good as another kid on regular formula.  It smelled like rotten milk all the time but she did great on it.  I would suggest any other parent whose child is spitting everything up to give it a try.  It worked wonders with… read full review »

This product has done my son well, although I do prefer the alternative of Enfamil. The Similac powder seems to be thicker and heaver than its rivalry, making it seem like it would be harder for the infant to digest and pass. I have experience harder and darker stools with this product. But for being runner up on my list, it's not all that bad. With the budget I am on, this product will have to do! It would be nice to see more coupons and offers, possibly even freebies every once and a while. I have signed up at their site for such things and have yet to see anything pop up in the mail. what… read full review »

Tried a few other formulas out there but Similac was better in a number of ways.  First, and foremost it has never caused my child to be constipated.  A couple of other ones did.  Secondly it dissolves completly once it is properly mixed.  A few of the other formulas appeared to mix but at the end of the bottle I found large clumps of formula.  Overall, the price is about the same as the other formulas, maybe even a little more.  I found it worth the price do to how well my child absorbed the formula and has thrived.  I also looked in to the research that… read full review »

When I found out that my daughter had jaundice I had no choice but to give her formula milk for extra help. The hospital gave me Similac Advance formula and my baby seemed to like it. After we left the hospital we ran out of the milk the hospital gave us so we had to decide whether or not we wanted to keep giving her that brand. When we went to the store we saw that it was not the cheapest milk but it was also not the most expensive. Since it was in between we decided to keep buying it. We didn't feel comfortable buying the cheaper store brand so we decided this was the next best thing. I… read full review »

Similac Advance is one of the best infant formulas on the market today. If, for what ever reason, you are not breastfeeding then I would definitely promote the use of Similac Advance. I have tried other formulas and have found that Similac is the best. It is very easy on the stomach and digestive system. Enfamil tended to constipate my children, so it was very pleasing to find a formula that was easier to digest without compromising quality.  Similac also carries other formulas in their line that caters to the more specific areas of concern such as vomiting, colic, and allergies. When I… read full review »

We used this formula for our second son. Our pediatrician recommended it. We have no complaints and there were not any problems with digestion or upset stomach. — We used the powdered formula for convenience and affordability. It was easy to make a batch and then store it in the refrigerator. My only wish would be a bigger scoop. I often found myself counting out 24 scoops of powdered formula to mix with the water. After a little while, I figured out a conversion system (i.e. 24 scoops = 1 cup) — If you get on the mailing list with Similac, they will mail you coupons for $5… read full review »

I have a loyalty to this brand but was so disappointed when I received nothing from there welcome addition program.  I was told it would offer coupons and other discounts on the purchases of this formula and I got nothing,   I  tried to speak with someone about it there response was, I live in a WIC populated area and did not qualify.  I had no idea that the welcome addition club was based on where you live, I find that unfair and just plain wrong.  — — I remain on this formula because my daughter had adjusted to it nicely but if I have the… read full review »

I started off nursing but after 6 weeks began my son on Similac.  Now at $28 a can, I was leery of using it, but he seemed to like it and every mom knows that thatis what really counts.  I tried Enfamil and liked the consistency a lot better.  The Similac doesn't seem to mix as smoothly as other formulas.  There are lots of free samples given out by the hospital and doctors office so the option of getting a lot for free is definitely a bonus.  I eventually switched to Parents Choice (Walmart) because it was half the price, mixed better, and my son didn't notice the… read full review »
