Similac Advance Baby Formula —

When I left the hospital two days after giving birth to my son, I was not producing enough milk to satisfy him and he needed formula to supplement his feedings.  The hospital gave me Enfamil to take home and my son didn't react very well to it.  It made him gassy, he spit up a lot and he was constipated.  I decided to try a different brand and went with Similac.

After I purchased Similac Advance I started to see a difference in my son.  I knew that I now had the right formula he needed.  The other day I read the back of the baby formula labels to see what the difference was if there was one.  What I noticed is that the Target Brand formula is the worst when it comes to nutrient content.  It was very low on the vitamins and minerals that a baby needs.  After that came Enfamil which was in the middle as far as the best and worst formula goes.  At the top is Similac.  They have the most vitamins and minerals in their formula and is supposed to be the closest thing to breast milk.

The Scoop!

My son is now nine months old and still uses Similac in between meals.  He has been a very healthy baby and I am sure Similac has something to do with it.  If I had it all to do over again, I would still buy Similac.

That's good to know. I feel very confident giving my son Similac. I wasn't able to breasfeed because my milk dried up, but I feel Similac is as good as formula gets.

My sister used Similac with all of her children too but the doctor had to switch her youngest to some other very expensive brand because the baby was failing to thrive. After about 3 months her little girl finally started putting on some weight and the doctor told her to switch back to Similac (cheaper) and see how she did. Katie did just fine from then on. ~Gigi
