Silpat is a product that takes the place of using aluminum foil or parchment paper for baking; According to advertising, the mats never need oiling if cared for properly. According to Demarle, the Silpats are nonstick sheets are made of woven glass coated with food-standard silicone.

Demarle advertises a useful life of 2000-3000 uses or 2 years, whichever is less. Note that you cannot use the Silpat under the broiler. It will ruin the mat and void the warranty.

You can use these for just about any kind of baking: cookies, breads, chicken nuggets, pizzas, etc. The advertising is true. Virtually...

Silpats are great.  They are very handy to use over and over again when baking a large amount of the same item and are very easy to clean.  They really wipe clean for the most part.  They are great.  I don't think I could do my holiday baking without them.  They are also great for using to make things that need to be frozen then removed to be stored in the freezer after they are frozen.  They may be the first of the kind but they are the best ones that I've used ever.  I've tried most of them and these stand up the best of all.

I was given a Silpat baking sheet as a gift.  As someone who has baked for years, I was skeptical that it was really necessary.   Boy, was I wrong!  For cookie baking it is indispensable.  Whether the recipe calls for greasing the baking sheet or not, I always line the pan with a Silpat.  The cookies cook and brown more evenly and are easily removed from the pan.  This is especially useful for thin, delicate cookies.  I've also used it for baking meringues instead of parchment paper.

Some may feel they are a bit pricey at $20.00 per sheet.  However, given the time and money involved...

I love my Silpat! From the first time I used it, I was pleasantly surprised at how perfect my cookies came out of the oven.Cookies never stick, and are nice and crisp, but never burnt! It is a breeze to clean and you never need to grease again!Simply lay the Silpat into your favorite baking sheet and place the cookie dough directly onto it. I have used mine for rolled and cut cookies as well as drop cookies. The surface is nonstick and also great for rolling out doughs. I have used mine for homemade pizzas and it makes a perfect crust!
Cleaning and storage are very simple, wash and wipe in the...

Silpat baking mats allows you to bake effortlessly.  You don't have to worry about your baked goods sticking and cleanup is so quick.  Saves me money also since I'm not using as much foil to line my pans.  With foil, you use it once or twice and then it goes in the garbage.  With the Silpat baking mats, you can use them over and over again.  With careful cleaning and storage, these mats last a long time.  I originally stored them flat but found that the manufacturer recommends you store them rolled up.  I recommend Silpat baking mats over the silicon baking mats.  The silicon baking mats... read full review »

I got these Silpat baking sheets as a gift from my husband, and I love them.  I bake everything I can on them because it helps make cleaning up a breeze. I bake my cookies, pizzas, breadsticks, macroons, etc. on them and I've never had any problems with my mats or the food. I also like that when I use the mats I don't need to use oil or spry to keep food from sticking, which keeps my cookie sheets looking nice.  I think they're great!

The Silpat Baking Mat works every time.  After baking it wipes clean easily with water and rag.  Food cooks really well on it and the edges don't get burned.  They are also easy to store.  I just store mine on top of my cookie sheet so it doesn't take up any extra space. I have used it for many different types of cookies and also for bagels and the food always comes off really easily! It's well worth your money!

I've had a Silpat for 6 years and use it all the time for cookies, biscuits, and scones. In fact, I got another recently. They've both held up well, and they make it easy to get baked goods off of cookie sheets. The nice, smooth, non-stick surface of the Silpat compensates well for the poor condition of my cookie sheets. I would recommend this product for anyone who lies to bake.

I have had the Silpat baking mat for several months now, and it is wonderful.  My husband is only capable of heating things from the freezer, and I have spent several years scrubbing the mess he leaves on the bakeware he uses.  With the Silpat, I just wipe it clean!  My life has become so much easier!!!

As for me, I use the baking mats whenever I bake cookies.  When the cookies are done, I don't even have to use a spatula...they just lift right off the pan!

I really can't say enough about these mats.  They make cooking a breeze, and the cleanup so simple.
