My first Silpada purchase was a very cute sterling silver ankle bracelet. I wore it maybe 6 times, and it broke. According to Silpada, there was nothing they could do because the exchange (time period) had passed.
Another friend had a Silpada party about 6 months later. To support her, I went, and ordered ear rings and a necklace, both sterling silver. I don't remember now exactly what I paid, but I believe it was about $150. When I wrote my check, I remember thinking that I really hoped my experience with the ankle bracelet was a fluke, and I would have better luck this time. When I received the items, I was thrilled. Both looked fantastic. I got tons of compliments on both pieces. However, I first noticed the color changing on the ear rings. It was color that I couldn't wipe off with a jewelry cloth, so I purchased one of the jewelry cleaner machines. No luck. I was very frustrated because I really liked the ear rings, which were now of no use. It only got worse though, because the necklace started turning color as well. The chain first, then the pendant. It looks like copper now! I've tried to clean it with everything (even that Tarn-X stuff they sold on TV years ago!). I still have it, only to show people so others don't throw their money away too. The worst part about it, I LOVE this necklace, which obviously cannot be worn!
So, three purchases, and three pieces of junk. Between the ankle bracelet, the necklace and the ear rings, I'm guessing Silpada got about $200 out of me. Not another penny tho!
