The Signing Time videos have been a part of our home since my oldest daughter (almost 6) was about 8 months old. This is when I first read a magazine article about Rachel Coleman and the videos that she developed to teach her family and others how to communicate with the deaf, primarily her daughter Leah.
The videos are amazing! From the very start they captivate children's (and adults) attention. The songs are so fun. The vibrant colors and variety of children keep your attention. Children are soon trying, very eagerly, to make their little hands do what Rachel's and the other children's hands are doing.
In addition to the benefits of learning another language, sign language helps children develop their fine motor skills. Their language will improve. It can help with reading and spelling.
We are huge fans of Signing Time and I strongly encourage every parent to let them be a part of your family's life.
