Shula's Steakhouse - Chicago, IL Review

If you are planning to dine out, and you like steak, you almost cannot do better than Don Shula's Steakhouse.  The service and quality are top notch, and you get to choose your cut of meat , which is appealing when you're a steak lover!  The ambiance is a bit formal, but it's not too quiet that you'll be afraid to talk about your most intimate secrets over dinner. 

We loved the steak and the accompaniments - specifically the lobster mashed potatoes, and the grilled asparagus. oh, and you have to order dessert in advance because it takes long to prepare their specialities. 

While the food was excellent, and worth raving about to friends, we were disappointed in the promotions advertising.  We had tried Shula's because I received an email boasting about their prix fixe dinners for $39.95, all inclusive.  We and another couple arrived on a Friday night and were promptly informed that the prix fixe does not apply on Fridays.  I was perturbed because my email made NO mention of any restrictions.  I mentioned this to the server, but she made no accommodations. 

So, we learned our lesson the hard way...  $200 per couple the hard way!

I would return, but make sure I know what I'll be spending before I go.
