Shrek is no doubt a fun film, but it really should have had a PG-13 rating. I have a problem when a movie is full of penis and sex jokes and aimed at kids. I actually have a hard time watching it because I keep thinking, "Wow, that was funny! But how on earth could they market this as a movie for kids?"...

I enjoyed this movie as a comedy. It's not just a childern's movie it is a family movie. It has a cute lovable donkey. A twist to a fairy tale. The beautiful princess and a evil prince soon to be king that is careless and selfish. It connects to unlikely chracters and makes them into good friends.

The Case
With the new Shrek movie hitting theaters, I felt the need to pull the original tale of my favorite, green-skinned ogre from the shelf. Rewatching it, I can't help being just as delighted with it now as when I saw it the first time!

This is for all Shrek movies: 1, 2, 3, and the newest X-mas one [which was originally a made-for-TV movie]. We have the DVDs of all of them, and have rewatched them a couple times. They are all family movies that I wouldn't hesitate to allow our newest niece to watch up through me [just getting ready to turn 60].
