This movie was excellent.  It still had an original beginning song and scene like the first movie had.  The original characters were only enhanced by the new charachters.  Very entertaining storyline.  The writers are very creative and continued doing spoofs from other movies and real life situations...

Shrek 2 is another funny movie, but I still prefer the first. Of course for me that is usually the case. The sequels usually just aren't as good for some reason. My 5 year old will sit and watch this movie over and over. I guess kids are just drawn to ogre's farting in the mud....haha....  Overall a... review »

The Case

Well, after watching Shrek, and with plans to go see Shrek the Third, how could I even think about skipping a viewing of Shrek 2?  Answer: I couldn't!  I popped the second in the loveable, if ill-tempered, ogre series into my DVD player and sat back for an additional hour and a half of non-stop laughs and enjoyment!  And the big green monster delivered yet again!

The Good

The second Shrek has all of the appeal of the first, with more!  How could you not love that?  The mockery of other children's movies is stronger than ever, the humor...

The original Shrek movie was so great, for me there was no way a sequel could be as good.  But still, Shrek II was enjoyable.  I love movies that the entire family can watch together & has something everyone can relate to & enjoy.

Michael Myers & Eddie Murphy do such a great job as Shrek & Donkey.  They play off of each other so well, and make me laugh all the time.  Especially Donkey.  Kids love him! (and so do I!)  Cameron Diaz does great as Fionna too.  And in the sequel you get so many more terrific characters!  Who wouldn't fall in love with Puss, the cat played by Antonio Banderas?...

The best Shrek movie out of all three

     This is by far my favorite Shrek movie out of all three in the series.  After the first Shrek movie came out to DVD, I bought it and fell in love with it.  It was so hilarious.  Right about that time was when my oldest daughter really got into watching cartoons and movies.  She instantly fell in love with Princess Fiona and we both got into watching the movie over and over.

     I personally like Shrek 2 better than the first one just because it introduces a new character, Puss in Boots.  He is by far my favorite character in the movie because his little innocent kitty eyes are...

I LOVED IT NOT ONLY FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT IS WAS FUNNY BUT THAT I WAS ABLE TO CALM DOWN THE KIDS WITH IT AND ENJOY IT ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I WAS ACTUALLY ABLE TO SIT DOWN AN ENJOY A MOVIE THAT I BELIEVE WOULD BE GREAT, BECAUSE OF THE 1ST ONE, AND ACTUALLY HAVE THE KIDS SITTING DOWN AND NOT JUMPING FROM WALL TO WALL AND WATCHING THE MOVIE WITH ME. Mike, Camron, and Eddie are a combination of fun and crazy mixed togeather. I love this movie because its so original, and I truly love it. Its wonderful, and it's for people of all ages to laugh, and enjoy, I know I did. Kids will really like this film cause of the crazy things that happen and the crazy things that are said. Eddie is a true character, and he can make anyone laugh because he is just amazing and will always be.  I love this movie! It is not just a kiddie movie, but great for adults as well. Sherk 2  has terrific writing, an all star cast and is extremely funny and entertaining, even my husband liked this movie and he is not a movie buff. Rupert Everett is one of my favorite actors so it was nice to hear his voice as the wicked prince charming. Mike Myers is a comic genius and the supporting cast is terrific. The whole family can enjoy this movie, but I would not reccomend  it to very young children because of some of the jokes and subject matter. Shrek 2 is definitley going in my movie library

Shrek 2 was a good movie but not great.  I expected more out of the second one.  The laughs were related more to adults, making it a great movie for anyone.  It wasn't as good as the first movie, but not bad by any means.  Mike Myers is hilarious and Eddy Murphy as Donkey just makes the movie.  I love the new addition of Puss In Boots and the bigger role that Fiona plays. The Prince and his Godmother became quite aggrevating as their role never changed.  It stayed constant throughout the movie and added very little to the overall scheme.

I think the Shrek movies are the best ever made. Shrek the Halls is hilarious. I hope they continue to make them for years to come...just don't take so long in-between! Every time I watch one of them I see somethig I missed before. The expressions on the animated faces are wonderful. The humor is great, some of it I think goes over the heads of the litle ones and that is OK! It is nice to see that even animated people do not have to be perfect. This gruff ogre is a real softie at heart and I love them all.

The film Shrek 2 is an outstanding movie

The movie Shrek 2 is an overall descent film. Although the voice acting of the main characters are extremely annoying. The comedy features of the film offers a lot of laughs, some of which parents may or may not find suitable for children. The digital graphics of the film were outstanding and well placed, the midevil theme was a bit rusty, but the different fairy tale characters made the adventure fun and enjoyable. Overall Shrek 2 is a great movie for when you have time on your hands.

When sequals first started to be made, they were never as good as the original.  Now they are usually better than the first.  This is no exception.  I love the second movie better that the first.  In the first Shrek movie they are establishing who the characters are and how they met.  In Shrek 2 they have fun with the characters and show how they relate to eachother in an uncomfortable situation.  There is a lot more action and fun in this sequal.

SHEK 2 WAS EVEN BETTER I LOVED THE FIRST ONE AS FAR AS KIDS MOVIE GOES BUT THE SECOND ONE WAS EVEN BETTER AND I AM GRATEFUL TO A POINT I THINK, NOW MY KIDS WATCH SHEK 2 LIKE 50 TIMES A DAY, BUT LORD HELP ME I GET TIRED OF THAT MOVIE AFTER SO MANY TIMES.BUT YES I HAVE TO AGREE SHEK 2 WAS REALLY GOOD AND ME BEING A MOM I LOVED IT , I THOUGHT THE WHOLE MOVIE WAS GOOD AND THE CAST AND CREW WERE THE BEST. The second of three (so far) movies about an ogre, a donkey, a princess, and a bunch of misfit fairy tale characters, Shrek 2 delivers more laughs than the first movie.

This movie delivered more laughs, had a great story, hilarious characters, and a top-tapping soundtrack (except for a few less than "heroic" songs). 

A must for family movie night!

No gratuitous sex scenes, violence, or foul language.
